this is correct and my understanding as well but I think it was inappropriate to use bible verses now. He should just say what he means. Does Obama believe that God will do what needs to be done regardless of what any of us think or say or do and God will just as soon kill individuals as not but that he believes God will push the race of humankind in a direction of his choosing? Or rather "the children of Israel" not all humankind.The rest of us don't matter. In the end God has his way and fulfills his promise of taking care of his children both.But meanwhile we will all kill each other over it and somehow we should accept this?

God exists or does not-we can't listen to Psalms like this and move forward in a useful way. It is not comforting either!
