The word Palestine has its origin in the Philistines,a brave and seafaring people from Crete who settled in the Middle east and are not Semitic.
Roman General Titus named Judea and Samaria after this age old Jewish foe after he conquered Jerusalem. He did this to humble the Israelites after they lost the war with Rome in 70 AD.
There has never been an independent state called Palestine in all of history.
This whole thing of an "age-old" Palestinian people was invented by Arafat and his cronies as a war ruse against Israel.
"Palestinians" cannot even pronounce the name properly and must resort to pronounce it Falestine or Balestine as there is no letter P in Arabic. Now this alone is as fake as it can get, but if you do not believe me, why not hear it out of their own mouths:

…Zahir Muhse’in, member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee, said the following in a 1977 interview with the Amsterdam-based newspaper Trouw. ‘The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggleagainstthe state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians, and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism.’”
