Re: What is a Hindu!
There is no concept of 'untouchability' in Vedas.

In Yagna, all people participate irrespective of profession or social status.

However, troublemakers obviously cannot be invited or tolerated.

It is the same like a church service. Will a church tolerate if somebody shouts against the church, or throws eggs on the congregation. Probably not.

Rakshas are people who were against the vedic people. They used to stop people from performing 'yagna'. They resorted to various tactices - like throwing meat into vedi, hurting or killing people etc. Rakshas despised Arya, and feared them at the same time, so their activity was limited to periphery of Aryavrata.

Ravana was himself afraid of king Dasarath and his army. He never confronted Dasarath directly. His activities were limited to isolated communities of Arya far away from Ayodhya.

Ravana was a mighty warrior though. He set up a new kingdom in Lanka, and subjugated many kings of non-arya nations. He amassed a lot of wealth from his conquests. Ravan is also known for his large 'harem' and his pleasure-seeking ways.

'Pataal' means continents of Americas in the context of Ramayan.

Ravan subjugated king of Pataal and wrested 'Pushpak' viman from him.

This viman could fly in space, and could cover large distances on earth in a very short time.

Re: What is a Hindu!
Why am I writing this on a 'conspiracy' forum?

Because people of India (most of them) are so misled and confused by Pundits that they are incapable to understand the real history.

The real history is not found in books. Books can be doctored easily. The evil kings always focus on distorting religious books, as 'religion' is their number one enemy.

The corrupt elite distort religion and confuse people to retain their power.

This is the reason God made Veda so difficult to understand. Veda is almost un-intelligible to a common man. Veda can only be understood by a person who has subjugated kama (desire), krodh (anger), lobh (greed), moh (attachment)and ahankaar (ego). A person who has done this achieves what Veda calls 'medha sumedha', that is fine intellect. So wily Pundiits were unable to understand Veda.

Re: What is a Hindu!
The discussion about Hindus cannot be complete without mentioning 'Tamil' people.

I love Tamil people. Tamil people are very smart and hard-working people. They are an integral part of modern India, a people who have immensely contributed to this nation.

Tamil have their own myths and stories of their origin and I respect that.

All I can say is Tamils are immigrants to the Indian sub-continent, an event similar to mass migration of Atlanteans from Atlantis to Egypt.

The predecessors to Tamils in south India were people similar to Singhalese of Sri Lanka.

Tamils adopted vedic religion when they came to India, and later various sects of sub-vedic religions. Tamils are as Vedic as any other Indian.

The races in south India mixed with incoming people. So the mass of people in South India contain genes of both.

Re: What is a Hindu!
Rama conquered Lanka, but did not kill Rakshas people. Rama left Lanka after appointing 'Vibhishan' as the king of Lanka.

This is very different from what has happened repeatedly in modern history, when a race tried to completely exterminate another race.

The answer lies in Veda. Non-Arya nations were present at the time of Rama, and Rama did not exterminate or conquer them. The Vedic tradition of winning over and converting a person is by logic, by teaching, and by shashtrartha, not by killing or terror.

Veda does not have any punishment for a person holding a belief.

Veda has punishments for crimes, which are awarded by king or officer of the king.

I appreciate modern western governments for understanding this principle. The rule of law is necessary for prosperity.

If a nation kills or harasses innocents, that nation is quite likely to be destroyed. This is God's law.

Naming of child in Vedic civilization

The name of a child was given by the Rishi/Sanyasi presiding over the naming ceremony, rather than the parents.

Yogis have paranormal powers. They can see much beyond a normal human being. They can see the soul, just not the body, and the vrittis (temperament) of that soul.

So names given were picked up from Vedas, and often reflected the temperament of that person - for example 'Surya' may be a very intelligent person but have a flaw of getting angry quickly.

Vedic names are generally meaningful, and tell about that person.

There are no 'temples' and stone deities in vedic religion.

Agnihotra can be done at home, or in a village or town square as convenient. Sometimes a raised platform with a thached roof is used for agnihotra.

As wood is burned, it is advised to do agnihotra in an open place.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1757552

That all society takes part in a fire yagna does not arbitrarily mean they are socially equal. That is spiritual! All souls are equal, bodies are not. For continuity of material management we follow SanatanaDharma.

Those that fall out of 4 varnas or asramas are sub-human and untouchable. Like the cobbler(fifth class) that eats the cow after it has a natural death. This person is integral! We will use the leather he processes from the dead body of the cow. Next question is how do we contact and not contact at the same time, lol.

Sadly it is true today for most of the people who call themselves 'sanyasi'.

Good news is there are some 'real' ones still there. The real ones do not seek fame and money, so it is very hard to know them.

The Sanyasis are not responsible for petty kingdoms and infighting in pre-British India. This is a separate topic, and I shall not cover it in this thread.

Heroism, power, determination, resourcefulness, courage in battle, generosity, and leadership are the qualities of work for the ksatriyas.

Farming, cow protection and business are the qualities of work for the vaiyas, and for the sudras there is labor and service to others.

First of all it is "Arya", not "Aryan"

I have no idea about "Aryan" theory propounded by Hitler.

Vedas have been extensively studied by non-Indians at various point in time. But they have missed the essence due to wrong 'experts'.

Being 'Arya' has nothing to do with genetics.

Genetics has come only recently in 20th century. The conflict of religions is much older than that. I would wish that you leave the genetics out of the picture, if you really want to discuss.

BG. 18.13-14
O mighty-armed Arjuna, learn from Me of the five factors which bring about the accomplishment of all action. These are declared in sankhya philosophy to be the place of action, the performer, the senses, the endeavor, and ultimately the Supersoul.

BG. 18.15
Whatever right or wrong action a man performs by body, mind or speech is caused by these five factors.

BG. 18.16
Therefore one who thinks himself the only doer, not considering the five factors, is certainly not very intelligent and cannot see things as they are.

BG. 18.17
One who is not motivated by false ego, whose intelligence is not entangled, though he kills men in this world, is not the slayer. Nor is he bound by his actions.

BG. 18.18
Knowledge, the object of knowledge and the knower are the three factors which motivate action; the senses, the work and the doer comprise the threefold basis of action.

BG. 18.19
In accordance with the three modes of material nature, there are three kinds of knowledge, action, and performers of action. Listen as I describe them.

BG. 18.20
That knowledge by which one undivided spiritual nature is seen in all existences, undivided in the divided, is knowledge in the mode of goodness.

BG. 18 21
That knowledge by which a different type of living entity is seen to be dwelling in different bodies is knowledge in the mode of passion.

BG. 18.22
And that knowledge by which one is attached to one kind of work as the all in all, without knowledge of the truth, and which is very meager, is said to be in the mode of darkness.

There is more if your interested. But it could be above your existential pay grade at the moment. There are 17 previous chapters that lead up to this.
