Could these bugs be having a surge because there are more seeds than usual? I noticed there are tons of pine cones and acorns this year (way more than usual) so it stands to reason that seeds of all kinds are more numerous.

Re: Millions of tiny black bugs , Texas what have you done
that is odd
I have learned that the ambition of those who follow selfish precepts is no more than a chaotic waste, a finite gain that must be followed by infinite loss.
For there is indeed a harmony in the universe, a concordant singing of common weal.
To join that song one must find inner harmony, the notes that ring true.

There is another point to that truth, that Evil does not sing.

We're seeing species locally that some of us can't identify. We're having to send off to entomologists, to the big bug doctors, to help us with it," says Liles.

Just because you are not familiar with all native insects? Most people are not. People are, for the most part, far too removed from Nature.

I have to call BS! LOL!!

3 Generations of farmers eh?? Yet you know nothing of seeds? Hilarious.
You know nothing of Nature & it's cycles? Shame on you. AND... why the title of your thread "...Texas what have you done"? What does that even mean? Bugs are not exactly shocking.

I have to both Agree & Disagree with you here.

I COMPLETELY understand the desire to have a better Life for your family or even just for yourself. You can stand in a million dollar house in El Paso & look across the Rio Grande & see people living in cardboard shacks burning tires for heat. It is very sad.

However, Mexico is NOTORIOUSLY corrupt. We cannot just go in there & make it better. The people of Mexico should have their own version of the American Revolution - in Mexico City.
