No

THAT WAS FAST: Now The Dutch Are Denying Reports Of Inevitable Greek Default

Update: Unbelievable, the report has already been rejected by the Dutch.
The speed of rumor and rumor-denial right now in the markets is just bonkers.

Heard pundits say that a Greek default may just be the thing the world economy needs.
Why now....why not hundreds of billions $$ ago?

Remember GM....bailout....bailout......BK.
Who made out in that deal.....the unions.

bsflag And that is not for the truth of the post

The bsflag is for the fact of WHAT REALLY WENT DOWN.

The post with the translation said, "Went into default"
That implies the SCARY DOOM - the plans of the default are being put into place...they just haven't told us "crap" folk what the details are!

The markets rallying...just another sign of the Plunge Protection Team and market manipulations.

UNDERSTAND THIS NOW - FOLKS - THE RICH ARE PROTECTING THEIR A$$ES DURING THIS DEFAULT - WE THE COMMON ARE GETTING SCREWED!!!

Depends on if Greece gets asset stripped. Thats what the IMF does. Argentina still sucks 10 years after their default.

Agreed. David Copperfield is nothing compared to all the illusions the governments create, over here in Europe and in the States.

Even though I do understand there might be consequences and risks for other EU countries, I truly see no other road than to declare Greece bankrupt.

As bad as I feel for the men in the street, who get fucked the Greek way, how can you keep dumping all that monopoly money in a bottomles pit. Same with Spain, Italy etc.

I am 100% sure that the majority of the Western EU citizens would vote against the Euro in a heartbeat. It has brought nothing but making life more expensive and with the pace the risks countries get in trouble, there are just no "band aid Euro's" enough to heal these patients and the infection will only get more out of hand.

The public in many countries is forcefully taken the Greek way, no matter what they decide.

Re: Greek default!!
A default of this size is an unfolding process, rather than an event.

It will be hard to say that they "default" at any single point in time.

Bondholders just wont get paid.

Right now everyone is clamoring to negotiate getting a few euros later, rather than a firm 'nothing' now.

Apparently It is Merkel who is trying to stop the rumour mill:

“Everyone should weigh their words very carefully. What we do not need is alarm in financial markets,” she said. “There is already enough uncertainty.”

why don't they just give them free gold instead of fiat currency to get out of this? after all, they are just as precious right? Think about it, why this will never happen, and why you should own physical.

This is going to hit US Banks hard -- especially, JP Morgan from what I understand. I am very happy they are going to default rather than risk another loan with heavier consequences.

European Union has failed! Several other countries right behind Greece...

All good news.

Pretty sure AIG with the help of GS wrote hundreds of billions in CDS against a greek default, and AIG's liabilities were passed on to our government when it took them over.

So yeah once again the American taxpayer will be expected to bail out the world.
