Re: Pistis Sophia Descended the Chakras So We All Could Return to the Light
Gnosis means "knowledge"; a specific kind of intimate knowledge, the way lovers know one another. The root of gnosis hides in the more familiar words recognize, cunning, and narrative. For spiritual seekers, gnosis is deep understanding of the Divine and our relationship to it. Dutch scholar Gilles Quispel explained it simply as "knowledge of the heart"; quite simply, gnosis is insight.
Quoting: a student of Protean thought

Beautiful description of Gnosis. It is like remembering a long lost lover that never left. Remembrance of that that is already there.

Check it out. Looks like the Tree of Life. The Gnostics were clever they were trying and succeeding in tying it all together at the same time. They were brilliant. No wonder their writings were left out. The utter simplicity of all of it is mind-boggling awe.

Re: Pistis Sophia Descended the Chakras So We All Could Return to the Light
The Archetypal Mother is the matrix of a woman's capacity and power to conceive, birth, sustain, and renew life and give death. It is the Mother energy that initiates us into sacrifice (from the Latin, to make sacred), surrender, transformation, and transmutation. Among other things, Mother initiations call us to the healing of our own mother wounds, to look at ourselves as mothers, and to learn to let go into its own life that which we have birthed and nurtured. The Mother calls us to our bodies, to discover the joy of full embodiment, to nurture our physical life and the life of the planet. Encounter with the Dark Mother, Kali, the goddess who shreds the fabric of illusion, is the core of all initiation. Through Mother initiations, we learn to love all aspects of Life, to open to what is, as it is. We also come to realize that the root of our suffering is in wanting things to be different than they are.

The Archetypal Amazon is the feminine warrior priestess who serves Life. This energy calls us to integrity, to be in alignment with something greater than our own egoic wants and needs. We are in Amazon mode when we can take stock of our internal and external boundaries with people, food, money, time, energy, etc., when we can strategize, make a plan, and carry it out. The Amazon challenges us to be scrupulous in our inner work, to aspire to trust and be in alignment with our own heart, to speak the truth, and be truly devoted to living and acting from consciousness and compassion. The Amazon is committed and willing to meet fear, shadow, and the inner masculine, as well as the utmost vulnerability of the wounded child within us. The Amazon brings clarity, assertiveness, decisiveness, honesty, responsibility, and courageous. She empowers us to learn skillful means for negotiating life in the world, including relationships, and being utterly faithful to ourselves. Amazon initiations teach us not to abandon ourselves.

The Archetypal Lover is the High Priestess of Eros, the feminine principle of relatedness. The Lover seeks relationships, union, and communion everywhere and with everything. When our Lover is invoked, our emotions, creativity, playfulness, sensuality, sexuality, relationship to self, body, other people, nature and the divine are the playground for exploration, healing, and discovery. She tends the garden of earthly delights. Beauty is her vocation, serving the Divine Beloved is her devotion. Lover initiations challenge us to confront the illusions that keep our hearts closed. We are given many opportunities to love freely and passionately, to be compassionate, especially with ourselves, and to live in the present moment. Lover initiations encourage embodiment and the healing of a wounded self image. The inner Lover can help a woman to transmute shame about her body to delight, as well as heal the wounds of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.

The Archetypal Medial archetype awakens our desirefor wisdom, knowledge, and the unknown, and fans the fires of search for all kinds of knowledge, from the practical to the most esoteric and mystical. Medialinitiations usually take us into our fear ofthe unknown, where we must deal with ego's need for control and the fear of surrender. We come to realize that our fear of the unknown is really a fear of our thoughts about the unknown. The Medial energy invites us to descend deep into the depths of our own unconscious as well as to explore other dimensions of reality. These initiations dissolve our ideas about what we think we know, and who we think we are. Medial initiations call us to address issues of healership, right use of spiritual powers, legitimacy, internal spiritual authority, and visibility in the world as a Medial Woman. This work opens us to our place in the world as a healer, and awakens us as priestesses and ritual makers.

The Queen archetype is the axis mundi, the archetypal center which Jung called ‘Self’, toward which our heroine’s journey is constantly spiraling. She embodies our full potential as human women whose essential nature is pure awareness, alive and awake in our own human woman body. Each initiation in all of the four other archetypal domains brings a woman greater awareness and embodiment of this Queen within who is awake, loving, compassionate, and increasingly free of her human conditioning, even as Life continues to bring to her door its imperfections, incompletions, and impermanence. She is the embodiment of all the other archetypes, and her visibility is the expression of all of her initiations. She calls us to live authentically, to open to the truth of what is as it is, and live our devotion.

Hey all. Sorry for the invitation then absence. I am behind on a drafting project...

Yes, some of the other posters here know their gnosis. I hope they intuit their way back too.

Most of them just popped up and I had never met before this thread. There are a lot more Gnostics around the jute joint of glp that I had realized.

Gnosticism feels like home to me. As it is for all of us. It is our home for remembrance of that which we already know.

Nice thread, thanks for the invite.
Glad I checked back on the other thread.
I would have missed all the wonderful women there.
I just don't have the tolerance for negative energy or nitpicking.
I am here to learn ... who I am and what I am here for.
Many of you have so much more wisdom than I.
I have an inner knowing but the words to explain it often escape me unlike many of you.

I watched the video at the start of this thread and had god bumps watching.
I felt like us women together can create a brilliant light.
I want so much to be a part of that.

Shine on Ladies.
Much love to all

So glad you checked back in there. Seems to be clearing up some over there.

On to learning from each other. That inner knowing is where it starts. That at core is what gnostic means anyway. We all have an innate inner knowing. Some just tap it then it is often hard to know what to do with it.

As far as communicating it. Learning curve and fine art form. One that I surely do not have down. It has taken years to find words for it to this point. Many try and try agains.

More important at this juncture finding the audience that also shares the sense of inner knowing is more important. Many struggle to find the words to couple facts with intuition.

Which is part of the goal in my opinion. Reconnecting ourselves and synching to the cosmos connection. For example the gut has its own nervous system. It is as large as the brains. Hence where the term “gut instinct” came from.

FIRE: Focus, Integrity, Responsibility, Excellence!!

Manipura is represented by a downward pointing red triangle, the fire region, within a bright yellow circle, with 10 dark-blue or black petals, like heavily laden rain clouds. The triangle has a t-shaped swastika on each of its sides. The fire region is represented by the god Vahni, who is shining red, with 4 arms, holding a rosary and a spear, and making the gestures of granting boons and dispelling fear. He is seated on a ram, the animal that represents this chakra.

Re: Pistis Sophia Descended the Chakras So We All Could Return to the Light
THUNDER: PERFECT MIND

Translated by George W. MacRae

I was sent forth from the power,
and I have come to those who reflect upon me,
and I have been found among those who seek after me.
Look upon me, you (pl.) who reflect upon me,
and you hearers, hear me.
You who are waiting for me, take me to yourselves.
And do not banish me from your sight.
And do not make your voice hate me, nor your hearing.
Do not be ignorant of me anywhere or any time. Be on your guard!
Do not be ignorant of me.

For I am the first and the last.
I am the honored one and the scorned one.
I am the whore and the holy one.
I am the wife and the virgin.
I am and the daughter.
I am the members of my mother.
I am the barren one
and many are her sons.
I am she whose wedding is great,
and I have not taken a husband.
I am the midwife and she who does not bear.
I am the solace of my labor pains.
I am the bride and the bridegroom,
and it is my husband who begot me.
I am the mother of my father
and the sister of my husband,
and he is my offspring.
I am the slave of him who prepared me.
I am the ruler of my offspring.
But he is the one who [begot me] before the time
on a birthday.
And he is my offspring [in] (due) time,
and my power is from him.
I am the staff of his power in his youth,
[and] he is the rod of my old age.
And whatever he wills happens to me.
I am the silence that is incomprehensible
and the idea whose remembrance is frequent.
I am the voice whose sound is manifold
and the word whose appearance is multiple.
I am the utterance of my name.

Why, you who hate me, do you love me,
and you hate those who love me?
You who deny me, confess me,
and you who confess me, deny me.
You who tell the truth about me, lie about me,
and you who have lied about me, tell the truth about me.
You who know me, be ignorant of me,
and those who have not known me, let them know me.

For I am knowledge and ignorance.
I am shame and boldness.
I am shameless; I am ashamed.
I am strength and I am fear.
I am war and peace.
Give heed to me.
I am the one who is disgraced and the great one.

Give heed to my poverty and my wealth.
Do not be arrogant to me when I am cast out upon the earth,
[and] you will find me in [those that] are to come.
And do not look [upon] me on the dung-heap
nor go and leave me cast out,
and you will find me in the kingdoms.
And do not look upon me when I am cast out among those who
are disgraced and in the least places,
nor laugh at me.
And do not cast me out among those who are slain in violence.
But I, I am compassionate and I am cruel.
Be on your guard!
Do not hate my obedience
and do not love my self-control.
In my weakness, do not forsake me,
amd do not be afraid of my power.
For why do you despise my fear
and curse my pride?

But I am she who exists in all fears
and strength in trembling.
I am she who is weak,
and I am well in a pleasant place.
I am senseless and I am wise.

Why have you hated me in your counsels?
For I shall be silent among those who are silent,
and I shall appear and speak.
Why then have you hated me, you Greeks?
Because I am a barbarian among [the] barbarians?
For I am the wisdom [of the] Greeks
and the knowledge of [the] barbarians.
I am the judgment of [the] Greeks and the barbarians.
am the one whose image is great in Egypt
and the one who has no image among the barbarians.
I am the one who is hated everywhere
and who has been loved everywhere.
I am the one whom they call Life,
and you have called Death.
I am the one whom they call Law,
and you have called Lawlessness.
I am the one whom you have pursued,
and I am the one whom you have seized.
I am the one you have scattered,
and you have gathered me together.
I am the one before whom you have been ashamed,
and you have been shameless to me.
I am she who does not keep festival,
and I am she whose festivals are many.
I, I am godless,
and I am one whose God is great.
I am the one whom you have reflected upon,
and you have scorned me.
I am unlearned,
and they learn from me.
I am the one whom you have despised,
and you reflect upon me.
I am the one whom you have hidden from,
and you appear to me.
But whenever you hide yourselves,
I myself will appear.
For [whenever] you [appear],
I myself [will hide] from you.
Those who have [...] to it [...] senselessly [...].

Take me [... understanding] from grief,
and take me to yourselves from understanding [and] grief.
And take me to yourselves from places that are ugly and in ruin,
and rob from those which are good even though in ugliness.
Out of shame, take me to yourselves shamelessly;
and out of shamelessness and shame, upbraid my members
in yourselves.
And come foreward to me, you who know me
and you who know my members,
and establish the great ones among the small first creatures.
Come foreward to childhood,
and do not despise it because it is small and it is little.
And do not turn away greatness in some parts from the
smallnesses,
for the smallnesses are known from the greatnesses.

Why do you curse me and honor me?
You have wounded and you have had mercy.
Do not separate me from the first ones whom you have [known].
[And] do not cast anyone [out nor] turn anyone away
[...] turn away and [... know] him not.
[... him].
What is mine [...].
I know the [first ones] and those after them [know] me.

But I am the mind of [...] and the rest of [...].
I am the knowledge of my inquiry,
and the finding of those who seek after me,
and the command of those who ask of me,
and the power of the powers in my knowledge
of the angels, who have been sent at my word,
and of the gods in their seasons by my counsel,
and of the spirits of every man who exists with me,
and of the women who dwell within me.
I am the one who is honored, and who is praised,
and who is despised scornfully.
I am peace,
and war has come because of me.
I am an alien and a citizen.
I am the substance and the one who has no substance.

Those who are without association with me are ignorant of me,
and those who are in my substance are the ones who know me.
Those who are close to me have been ignorant of me,
and those who are far away from me are the ones who have
known me.
On the day when I am close to [you],
[you] are far away [from me],
[and] on the day when I [am far away] from you,
[I am close] to you.

[I am ...] within.
[I am ...] of the natures.
I am [...] of the creation of the spirits.
[...] request of souls.
[I am] control and the uncontrollable.
I am the union and the dissolution.
I am the abiding and the dissolving.
I am the one below,
and they come up to me.
I am the judgment and the acquittal.
I, I am sinless,
and the root of sin derives from me.
I am lust in (outward) appearance,
and interior self-control exists within me.
I am the hearing that is attainable to everyone
and the speech that cannot be grasped.
I am a mute who does not speak,
and great is the multitude of my words.

Hear me in gentleness, and learn of me in roughness.
I am she who cries out,
and I am cast out on the face of the earth.
I prepare the bread and my mind within.
I am the knowledge of my name.
I am one who cries out,
and I listen.
I appear and [...] walk in [...] seal of my [...].
I am [...] the defense [...].
I am the one who is called Truth,
and iniquity [...].

You honor me [...] and you whisper against [me].
[...] victorious over them.
Judge then before they give judgment against you,
because the judge and the partiality exist in you.
If you are condemned by this one, who will acquit you?
Or if you are acquitted by him who will be able to detain you?
For what is inside of you is what is outside of you,
and the one who fashions you on the outside
is the one who shaped the inside of you.
And what you see outside of you,
you see outside of you;
it is visible and it is your garment.

Hear me, you hearers,
and learn of my words, you who know me.
I am the hearing that is attainable to everything;
I am the speech that can not be grasped.
I am the name of the sound
and the sound of the name.
I am the sign of the letter
and the designation of the division.
And I [...].
[...] light [...].
[...] hearers [...] to you
[...] the great power.
And [...] will not move the name.
[...] to the one who created me.
And I will speak his name.

Look then at his words
and all the writings which have been completed.
Give heed then, you hearers
and you also, the angels and those who have been sent,
and you spirits who have arisen from the dead.
For I am the one who alone exists,
and I have no one who will judge me.

For many are the pleasant forms which exist in
numerous sins,
and incontinencies,
and disgraceful passions,
and fleeting pleasures,
which (men) embrace until they become sober
and go up to their resting-place.
And they will find me there,
and they will live,
and they will not die again.

Re: Pistis Sophia Descended the Chakras So We All Could Return to the Light
There is no need to ascend or ascend anything to know truth. It is within everyone and all that has to be done is to let go of concepts that block the truth. It is the holding to ideas that keeps one blind to truth. That is why meditation is so valuable. It forces one to self inquire which leads to a natural self cleansing process. All must dissolve before truth can be re-known. It takes the clouds (concepts) and moves them or dissolves them away so that the sun (truth) can shine like it always has. Truth is always here. It has never left you. You have just forgotten it by your clinging to ideas. It is your ideas that keep you from it. Meditation is the way out. It allows space around thoughts so the light can penetrate and dissolve them.

Re: Pistis Sophia Descended the Chakras So We All Could Return to the Light
Yes this is true what you said,

"It is within everyone and all that has to be done is to let go of concepts that block the truth. It is the holding to ideas that keeps one blind to truth."

Thats what descending means...a letting go, surrendering to what holds you back from knowing truth from the One True source.

When you get to that point in your life, where you can see that you are lost without the GOD you are within, one day it all dawns on you, a heck with it all feeling inside, and you just get to the point where you let it all go, a release of it all...and stand on the edge and freefall off the cliff to a symbolic death. A Leap of faith. I stood on top of this mountain in a dream with GOD, and told him to push me off, I was giving it all up, and surrendering it all for HIM alone. I wanted to be taught Wisdom through only His Way, not my way.

When you hit rock bottom, you wake up and it is as if you are spiritually resurrected back to life. You can now begin and start off with a fresh clean slate, and make a fresh start, learning everything coming from divine source till you reach Divine and renewed openings and manifestations through Wisdom and the Counsels of GOD alone.

Now you begin your climb out of the pit of dispair, and begin your walk with your GOD. It is then, you will see and know your divine self, and God annoints you, as you work your way back up to the light. You go through a fire baptisim which is a symbolic burning off of all the dross left you may have, a refiner and cleansing.

As you climb back up, you go through many changes, this is the annointing you need to keep close to, because you are now guided by the divine inteligencer or helper, which guides and opens your mind up for eternal Wisdom to enter.

Wisdom can only enter into a body that has reached a theshold of spiritual cleansing, and made ready. You cannot be all stained and not prepared. This must be your goal constantly. You must bring forth your fruit to ripeness, and full maturity.

When widom enters, You will then begin to see things so clearly, (as in a clear glass) which for me, I say it means the opening of the third eye, because this is how it happened for me.

You become close to GOD, and you become intimate with your creator. He then enters into your temple and makes His house within you, because you have now cleansed the inside as well as the outside , and made yourself ready for HIM. This is likened to a LOVE cosmic orgasm, where He enters into your most Holy, and becomes one like marriage, bonded, eternal.

Wisdom can only enter into a body that has reached a theshold of spiritual cleansing, and made ready. You cannot be all stained and not prepared. You must bring forth your fruit to ripeness, and full maturity.

Rev. 19:7

Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself.

Re: Pistis Sophia Descended the Chakras So We All Could Return to the Light
Catching up. Did not realize you all were over here.

It was important for me to relay the concept of ascending and descending with the chakras as it implied ‘inherent’ and ‘innate’ flow within.

Out of shame, take me to yourselves shamelessly;
and out of shamelessness and shame, upbraid my members
in yourselves.

And what you see outside of you,
you see outside of you;
it is visible and it is your garment.

Hear me, you hearers,
and learn of my words, you who know me.
I am the hearing that is attainable to everything;
I am the speech that can not be grasped.
I am the name of the sound
and the sound of the name.
I am the sign of the letter
and the designation of the division.
And I [...].
[...] light [...].
[...] hearers [...] to you
[...] the great power.
And [...] will not move the name.
[...] to the one who created me.
And I will speak his name.

Look then at his words
and all the writings which have been completed.
Give heed then, you hearers
and you also, the angels and those who have been sent,
and you spirits who have arisen from the dead.
For I am the one who alone exists,
and I have no one who will judge me.

For many are the pleasant forms which exist in
numerous sins,
and incontinencies,
and disgraceful passions,
and fleeting pleasures,
which (men) embrace until they become sober
and go up to their resting-place.
And they will find me there,
and they will live,
and they will not die again.

Re: Pistis Sophia Descended the Chakras So We All Could Return to the Light
It is impossible for me to externalize the concept of divine or creator. It goes against the very definition of Gnosticism itself and concept that we come from our own star.

So food for thought in how to approach the text and, for me, motive, awareness and recognition and owning the synch of when inherent divinity brushes up against or in some cases crashes into another’s. Spirit becomes flow.

Practicing flow of spirit becomes the motivating factor not just the quest for information. In this few gnosis becomes a verb in both interpreting the text and practicing it in relation to Earth and Other and Self.

"esoteric knowledge (gnosis) of whom enabled the redemption of the human spirit.”

“Esotericism: The term derives from the Greek (esôterikos), a compound of "within", thus "pertaining to the more inward", mystic.

Morning, lovelies.

And at this point in a thread of this nature for people that have some gnosis under their belt, some reading and practice of gnosis to interpret then communicate the text, there really is no need to debate ‘external’ or duality. Intent is to practice. As noted above within is gnosis. Starting with the tangible of the body just seems easier to communicate a deeper understanding of within as a whole. I seek not ‘astral’ to get out of self. I seek to remind me that it is within as well. Carry on.
The term derives from the Ancient Greek words, meta, meaning beyond or after, and noia, meaning perception or understanding or mind.

Re: Pistis Sophia Descended the Chakras So We All Could Return to the Light
Thank you, TheOracle, for reminding me to print that poem out to read it on a daily basis. To touch the paper. The text. To imprint the finger tips of energy onto the living page. Perhaps I will even write it out in my own horrid penmanship. Horrid in that it is oft unreadable. Better to memorize then and imprint within...lol That poem seems of theme that resonates with so many of us.

Yes, resonates with all who read it.

It is the basis of everthing....the one. It reminds us of who we are; imperfect - yet perfect, demon and saint, good and evil, hate and love - the list is endless. The words show us the origin of humanity and who we are. It is meant to help us accept one another in love, while we hate that which keeps us from accepting. It is the double edged sword.

Now if only all of humanity could see that so we can connect fully with the Pistis Sophia and learn to govern ourselves accordingly, so that we can learn to discern and judge and then find out that in the end, there is no judgement. How can there be?

The Sophia is what binds us all together as one. She is the word, the mind of God, within all of us.

Thank you for your thread. I feel like some life has been brought back into my being by reading here in communion with others who understand.

In one of my threads I also equated her with the ‘Holy Spirit’. Can’t remember which one but I do recall it generated discussion with others that are exploring viewing 'Faith in Wisdom’ the same way. Or what I am coming to explore as ‘remembrance of our inherent light’ preprogrammed into us by what is called ‘forethought’ in the Origins of the World text. These discussions can also be found in my current thread that I linked to above. We play a lot in that thread too. Sometimes more than not. But you will find some of the same posters here over there. Best to you and will see you around.
