Anonymous Coward User ID: 1524870 Canada 09/14/2011 09:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This smells fishy, really fishy. as I started reading a couple of sentences into the thread I thought in my head, I bet they are looking for donations. and sure enough there was the donate section. I get these letters in my spam folder in my email daily. Quoting: Fuck_The_System the girl is only just in hospital 5 mins and she thinks about GLP and donations,,,hmmm Obviously not familiar with the US healthcare system then. Not sure what it's like in Michigan but in some states no matter how extensive you think your health insurance coverage is you can still be out thousands. Before the housing bubble burst something like half of all bankruptcies were due to medical expenses, maybe more. |
Insomnia User ID: 1525632 Canada 09/14/2011 09:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What happened to all her tattoos? And the mole on the upper left corner of her lip? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 967845 Is this really her? Doesn't look anything like the pics in her facebook or other pages. I look completely different when I'm sick in bed, too, you would not recognize me after I get myself together. Plus she probably had hair extensions/colors, all that. Us womens are really creative sometimes. Master artists with what we got to work with! i dont doubt it's her, but it's so funny how photoshop can take like 20 years off someone. she looks 20 in her avatar, 40 irl lol. i can see how that might confuse some people. it's so awesome to see how people are so giving when someone is need, me myself would never send my kids here to ask for money if i were sick, and i've been in the hospital a few times NEVER depended on the kindness of strangers, i guess i feel icky thinking of being a charity case. |
Jack73 User ID: 1511636 United States 09/14/2011 09:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | for all of those who dont visit the hospital very often please know this. the nurses there realy dont care what you look like, they are just there to make you better. and thats about it. Sometimes you get one who does care, like one a shift if you are lucky. I know... I also know this NIN DO NOT listen to the DR's about your legs. I know... My Hubby broke BOTH of his legs (Tibia and Fibia Both), Pins rods you name it, and they said he would not walk again. WELP they were very wrong! about 1.5 months in the hospital and then 4 months later he took his first steps. 2 years later he has some megga scars and a limb (sometimes) but all in all he's in good shape. Lots of prayers to you and your family, and know that you have many people sending you love and light. one thing the PT did tell him is to wiggle your toes. keep a pencil around and play with it (with your feet) Not sure why this was but I could see a diffrance in his recovery once he started playing and moving his toes more I also used marbles on the floor. |

(:-DeeZe "The love that you withhold is the pain that you carry" “To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly, to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart, to bear all cheerfully, to all bravely await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.” .........William Henry Channing |

Tango User ID: 1550384 United States 09/14/2011 09:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is NINzrez's daughter, Erika Quoting: NiNzrez I have been asked to make this thread for my mom The morning of Monday Sept 12th, my mother was at home with my daughter and she fell backward over a fish tank that was sitting on the floor off to the side by the bed. It was a fish tank we were setting up for a tree frog She got multiple cuts and embedded glass the worst one being a 7in long by 3 3/4in chunk of glass that impaled through the back of her right thigh She had surgery on the evening of the 12th to have the glass removed. the glass had cut through her ligaments and tendons and turned them into a clump of mutilated flesh area where stitches would not even hold because of the condition of the flesh. but the main concern is that it scraped and almost severed her sciatic nerve. They were going to wait a few days before doing another surgery to possibly repair some of the damage there giving her a 01% chance of ever bending her leg again or walking They're giving her shots so that she doesn't develop blood clots and have her on a lot of pain meds She will talk with more specialists tomorrow morning. A really big thank you to everyone again for all the wishs via here, facebook and all over the internet, it means so very much to us. Keep sending her your posi vibes. Don't believe everything doctors tell you... with enough physical therapy and determination, she will probably be able to walk again. The brain and body are truly amazing and capable of working miracles!!! ^^THIS^^ May God Bless Your Mom with the strength to heal and recover quickly and for you as a whole family ! Tell her to get as much sunlight as possible too! It could help ! |

I thought I read somewhere that she may never walk again, and then I read that she may never walk without the assistance of a cane... hallelujah! They took 18 inches of my sciatic nerve out for testing purposes, my leg is still numb but it doesn't affect my walking. They clipped my sister's because of pain, again, it's numb but does not effect the ability to walk. Hang in there because nerves grow back together, common known fact. They grow back at a rate of 1/4" per year... severed should not be as bad as stripped. Ya, still feels a little funny. I couldn't walk for about 6 weeks (not because of the sciatic nerve removal, that was just testing purposes)... I'm glad I didn't ask for donations... boy would I have felt "bad" when I did regain my ability to walk. You go girl P.S. Your daughter is very sweet. I have never told my sister's six kids no... well, until 4 years ago, but the youngest was about 13 then. The little ones have always gotten to me, in fact my own kids did without so that her kids would never feel the pain their mother caused. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1427083 United Kingdom 09/14/2011 10:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh by the way they thought I had polycithemia (sp?) in case any tards want to research it. It wasn't. That's why they took the sciatic nerve. My sister prolapsed like a damn cow and when they did the surgery, they messed up (no idiot law suit though) and so they clipped the nerve for the pain. Ya, now she knows what it's like to have the "fur coat" sensation on your leg. She's used to it now. Do any of you know what the sciatic nerve function is? |
