The Illuminat was a group of intellectuals,

poets, writers, musicians that were unhappy with the

way the monarchs treated the population.

The founder was Adam Weisshaupt and started the secret society @ 1776.

Why secret?

If any of the Monarchs would have found out, all would have been killed.

After around one year, Bavaria got a new Monarch (Karl Theodor) and the Illuminati movement stopped.

That’s all there is/ ever was to it.
