Geithner had nothing to do with it. Glass-Stegal was repealed in 1999 in a bill sponsored by Phil Gramm and Jim Leach, both Republicans. George Bush finished off bank oversight...and then it happened....

Look up statistics, small business provides over 1/2 of
all employment. Yet its been largely cut off from loans.
Its a big deal, a short term cash flow issue will kill a
small business that doesn't have access to credit.

Perfectly viable business gone because a few clients dragged
feet on paying bills. Meanwhile Wall Street is drowning in
virtually free money.

Geithner's Lies, AIG, and the Glass-Steagall Principle

Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) pinned down the probably outgoing Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner at the Jan. 27 hearing, on the fact that Geithner has, and still does, oppose any restoration of the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act, repealed in 1999. Economist Lyndon LaRouche's Glass-Steagall principle for bankruptcy reorganization of the banking system, protecting commercial banking and throwing investment firms' casino operations out in the cold, is crucial to economic recovery.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) attacked Geithner's "Secretary Pinocchio" today. Geithner had lied that 1.) he "played no role" in the huge "backdoor bailout" of Goldman Sucks and other international banks carried out by his own NY Federal Reserve bank; 2.) it had been impossible to allow the AIG holding company into bankruptcy or even credit downgrade, because the whole world financial system would have collapsed instantly; 3.) we know this because the world economy did collapse in the Fall/Winter of 2008/09; and 4.) the huge bailout was only done by public servants for the American economy and people — Goldman Sachs and the other international investment banks didn't really need it.

Not only that, but you show up and make sure you're SEEN by the people you're protesting.

However, something tells me the basic union members didn't realize when planning this that Wall Street is CLOSED on Saturday.

What a joke this group is.

And I believe Obama is behind the whole thing.

He'd have never gotten elected without union backing and they know it.

You should have seen how the Culinary Union in Vegas ( made up of about 90% illegal Hispanics) made it easy for them to vote illegally on their lunch breaks in the employee cafeterias simply by showing their fake ID's that they bought at the Mexican Swap meet that enabled them to get a job with the union in the first place!

These babies that are catered to every day are going to sleep all winter in these freezing cold tents? Yeah, right.

Right, so how shall we define "small business"? Let's say, fewer than 20 employees? OK, I looked it up. According to the 2008 census, 82.2% of employees worked for companies with > 20 employees. And 65% worked for companies with > 100 employees. And then 51% worked for companies with more than 500 employees.

If FDR's 1933 Glass-Steagall Law were reinstated, such bailout protection of investment-bank-type speculation would be impossible, and bank insurance and protection would be limited to commercial depository banking and lending, period. The credit of the United States, now crippled by the vast bailouts and subsequent austerity drives against government, would be restored. And Geithner and the British puppet President would be finished.

The video said "One people, one planet..." sounds a lot like New World Order propaganda to me..
