This is what I get when i watch the movie. Now mind you, some of these comments are probably way off base, and might've been said before. But if something pops up in my brain, however ridiculous, I'm going to go ahead and put it down, so I ask for some latitude.

-of course we got the alignment of planets going on in the opening of the film. reminds me of the movie 2001.

-the solar intensity is of course the whole premise of the movie that causes earth's core to heat up and the crust to become unstable. the mechanism imo is flawed in the movie, but the cause I believe is correct: the sun. and looks like the sun is indeed mutating matter.
