In the supermarket checkout line...
Now, I admit that since I am a bodybuilder and personal trainer that I may pay attention to this a bit more than others, but have you noticed the absolute GARBAGE that people have in their carts at the supermarket while you are in the checkout line??

I mean SERIOUSLY! Ths stuff isnīt even food anymore. People are consuming and existing on a laundry list of chemicals. Almost everything they eat is loaded with high fructose corn syrup and/or bleached "flour". They guzzle gallons upon gallons of sugar-water (soda pop). If it doesnīt have sugar, then itīs loaded with aspartame (an excito-toxin), the most complained about substance the FDA has ever approved.

They gorge themselves of pure lard and fat, laced with dozens of chemicals including this fucking Monosodium Glutamate (another excito-toxin) that is being put in almost EVERYTHING.

Then they smoke cigarettes laced with 150 MORE chemicals. Then, they sock it to their poor overworked liver with suitcase cartons of beer.

Ya know, Iīve met a few people that didnīt deserve cancer or heart disease, or diabetes, but I have to be honest here...

Most people are absolutely BEGGING for it.

Yeah OP, I know exactly what you mean...thatīs why it takes me forever to grocery shop because Iīm always screening the labels to find food thatīs relatively poison-free ! Sometimes I will strike up conversations with people when I see them buying poison aspartame-laden "Diet" soda, and ask therm if they know that it is actually a very toxic chemical, and recommend some websites so that that they can educate themselves... Some people just look at me like Iīm nuts, but others are really grateful for the news....~ Itīs true , the typical American diet just keeps getting more and mnore synthetically deadly by the day...scream !!! NOT GOOD !!

Also sad, is the fact that so many people feed their kids this kind of stuff from the time they are so young, that they donīt know any different later on.

I know of one enormous woman who (not to be mean) literally looks like a pig, including her face. She eats the fattiest food, smokes cigarettes, takes drugs, and lives on welfare. This idiot has a toddler (by a lifelong jailbird) who will not even drink water, AT ALL. The kid will not stop screaming until he getīs his soda pop. He drinks it all day long, and NEVER drinks plain water.

And now this... ahem.... "lady" wants ANOTHER child! By ANOTHER... ahem... "man". And it doesnīt really matter WHO the guy is. Just any sperm donor who can bring themselves to... ahem... climb that mountain.

As it is, she usually pawns off the kid she already has, on her mother. Now she wants ANOTHER. And living on welfare, to boot. She said that as soon as her welfare runs out, she be getting on SSI.

How the hell do... ahem... "people" live that way?

I hear you, OP. I shop only at health food stores and farm stands, but the few times I do find myself in a supermarket, I am ASTOUNDED at the ignorance of people when it comes to food. I too have looked on in disbelief at shopping carts loaded up and NONE of it even qualifies as food in my book!

I just went shopping myself. In front of me at the checkout line was a 50 pound overweight woman with fresh fruits and a case of diet Dr. Pepper. I almost said something like, Hey, lady, youīve got it half right.

Re: In the supermarket checkout line...
Itīs bad enough that adults eat this way, but itīs a real shame that they feed their kids a diet of junk too.

My 10 year old nephew will come over to our house and gorge himself on the fresh fruit and veggies I keep in the fridge. He just loves baby carrots, asian pears, bananas, and oranges.

His mom will not buy any fruits or vegetables at all. She wonīt even take her grocery cart down the produce aisle. She buys him stuff like soda and pop tarts and spaghetti oīs, because thatīs what she wanted when she was a kid and she hated the fact that her mom fed her real food. She wonīt even listen to my nephew when he asks her to buy him strawberries or something.

The poor kid is 10 years old, on his way to becoming obese, and he suffers from constipation so badly sheīs had to take him to doctors because of it. Now the kid gets laxatives with his pop tarts. I have no idea why she refuses to feed him fruit and vegetables, especially since heīs been asking to have them.

That reminds me of one time a little girl with her father was screaming that she wanted a drink, "Iīm thirsty", etc. He said, not right now. I thought, why that mean old guy, and kindly pointed out to them, "Thereīs a water fountain over there." They both looked at me coldly and she started screaming, "I want a sodie daddy" and they both passed by the water fountain without even a glance. Silly me.

With what I witness at the supermarket on a regular basis, Iīm glad to see that there are still some nutritionally awake people around (at least here in GLP land).

Remember the old saying? Garbage IN, garbage OUT.

Not to overdo an old clicheī, but it really IS true. You literally ARE what you eat.

The Lord spelled out what we should eat, and what we should NOT eat, and I believe that by following the dietary advice of our designer, that you canīt go wrong.

Another old clicheī...

Without your health, nothing else matters.

the adam and eve story tells us that adam was immortal whilst he ate of the trees.

adam sinned then...

his punishment was mortality and death...

how did god accomplish this?

he took away the trees and made him eat plants

from the field and bread till he died

Yeah, I get depressed when I wait in the checkout line.

I saw an older morbidly obese man a few days ago who was riding one of those electric scooters. In his cart were a few gallons of cheap ice cream, too many bottles of soda to count (donīt know if diet or regular), a few 1.75 litres of cheap booze, frozen waffles, large economy size hot dogs, all kinds of chips, etc, etc.

Not that your idiotic post deserves a response, but, For the record... Iīve never taken "steroids" in my life. Who the hell ever said that I take steroids, just because I am into health and exercise??

In fact, in have been very vocal AGAINST their use. Maybe you (in your Twinkie induced coma) failed to deduce from my post that I am a very health-concious individual.

Just because I am a bodybuilder, doesn mean that I am a competivive one. The fact that I would HAVE to take steroids to even THINK about being a competive bodybuilder, means that I would never even CONSIDER it.

Havenīt you ever heard of Natural bodybuilding? I am not into bodybuilding to become HUGE. In fact, I donīt have proper genetics for it. I am into resistance training for HEALTH. I look like a guy you would see on the cover of a menīs health magazine. Not on the cover of FLEX, or IRON MAN, ect...

Somehow, your post makes me envision you as either a 98 pound weakling, whoīs jealous of guys who are in good physical condition, or... A morbidly obese couch potato, whoīs given up on life, and the hope of EVER reducing yourself down to the size of ONE person again.

One thing is for certain...

You are definitely angry. A result of your life-long bad decision making, no doubt.

Best-o-luck!

i understand your point OP...its fascinating to study the eating habits of others...i know because ive done the same thing...noticed whats in other peoples carts.

ive thought about this very subject and came to the conclusion so far that humans are so very PROGRAMMED in what to eat...

for me personally i dread the grocery shopping visits...i am such a picky eater that id live off of nuts and fruits and yogurts...

ugh! food! yuck! we MUST eat to stay here...that sucks.

Well, if you can afford it, invite your nephew over once a week and have fresh fruits and veggies for him and educate him. Plus get him off laxatives because they will mess him up for life. Just get him a box of prunes and have him stash them in his room like contraband and eat some everyday.hehe Kids are good at hiding bad stuff. Heīll just be hiding good stuff and maybe can keep pestering his mom for some fruits and veggies. Maybe she will get so sick of him whining she will give in. Works for kids when they want junk food.

BTW, you just said why she doesnīt. Because she didnīt get them as a kid and is living vicariously through her son. She has turned into her mother but a bad rendition of her. The mom needs counceling or a swift kick as a wakeup call. Anyway, like I said above, you can help this kid. Just DO IT.

hi

want a way to go to the grocery store without being tempted with those high fat, bad for you foods?

Well I will share a secret with you...

stop shopping in the aisles!

Open your eyes...

Most nutritious foods are along the edges of the supermarket...

neat trick eh?
