This one is from a small CME 2-3 days ago-not this one. These are computer models- not actual-realtime sensors. This last giant CME was on the opposite side (facing Stereo A and Mars). Stereo A has not updated in some time. Stereo B is updating but it's on the wrong side-opposite the CME. SOHO stopped updating 4 hours ago. We have to keep looking for updates. Patience. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1512633 United States 09/21/2011 11:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The CME was a moderate sized one but nothing that spectacular. When we were hit with 4 in a row earlier about 1 1/2 months ago we had the final CME combine with another CME about this size and the final one was moving over 2000 km/s! We had a Kp 8 storm granted and that was rather extreme but were still here and all the electronics are still functioning.... so no doom sorry. |

psyoptics User ID: 1515826 United States 09/22/2011 09:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | look at this, the spot on the right just gave us those flares and CME look at the one on the left, this is coming and is almost on the solar equator. look at all the white distorbaces going on around it that seems to make the area more active. [link to spaceweather.com] I think in 4 days to one week we should be looking straight at this mess. 1301 is also very active now. [link to spaceweather.com] 108 active spots today that is alot. psyoptics User ID: 1515826 United States 09/22/2011 09:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | we are not close to the large flare in 2003 yet. but the sun has awakened much faster then expected, usally moving smoothly through the solar cycle. the sun has more then doubled the solar activity over the last year. look here [link to hesperia.gsfc.nasa.gov] this is a good site to watch solar activity [link to sidc.oma.be] a good video editor can make anyone say anything the editor wants. |
