I work DT Denver and was invited to participate in the OMG scenario on 9/23, ask me a question...

Alright... I'll bite! Why will you not be in DT Denver? WHAT??? WHAT IS IT??? GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE... The anticipation's killing me! *biting nails

Because of the following:

1) on a normal day downtown traffic sucks. Now put that many agencies doing a mock terror attack and it'll be like having a Rockies game, a Broncos game and U2 concert. Traffic will be at a standstill.

2) Remember 9/11? They were doing an terror excerise in NY and look what actually happened? Sorry, but I work in a highrise and would rather NOT have to be in the middle of that.

3) My father is moving permantly to the Big Island Monday to start building the new family house/compound. I want to spend as much time with him before he leaves. I may never get to see him again if events unfold.

BTW I was invited to volunteer for the mock terror attack because I have CERT training (Citizens Emergancy Response Team). I have partcipated in these excercises before and so far I have been gassed, tazed and otherwise gone home very bruised. I'm getting too old for that now.
