Message Subject EINSTEIN WRONG: Particles Clocked Moving Faster Than Light at CERN

One of the absolute pillars of science - that nothing can go faster than the speed of light - appears to have been upended by a sub-atomic particle in an experiment in Switzerland.

Scientists at the world's largest physics lab outside Geneva said on Thursday they have clocked neutrinos travelling faster than light.

That's something that according to Albert Einstein's 1905 special theory of relativity - the famous E=mc2 equation - just doesn't happen.

Wouldn't entanglement theory have already suggested that?

Also; couldn't a 'thought' travel faster than the speed of light?

That's the uncertainty of quantum mechanics.

If two beings separated by 10 light years think exactly the same thing at exactly the same time, is it because they've shared a thought or is it just coincidence?

Quantum entanglement allows for there to be a connection between the two that's operating in factors well in excess of the speed of light.

Personally, I think we're missing out on a fundamental universal process that we're not able to quantify - something that underlies everything.

Say for example, in the physical world, you've got the speed of light as a physical limit, that still needs a foundation on which it's applied, and that foundation would need to function in excess of that physical speed to ensure that the speed exists.. kind of the like the speed of reality or something.

One thing I've always wondered with relativity too:

If I shine a torch from a train moving to point A, then the light in the local field is not in excess of the speed of light because it's moving relative to the train. However, where the light has moved out of that local field and is perceived as point A, then somewhere inbetween, it has to be moving at speed of light + train velocity. Where is that point?

I'm wondering what direction they shot the neutron? hmm If they shot it westwardly, then they are going with earth's flow and that would speed it up, which is exactly what occurred in the Time Dialation experiments. wait
