'Smart' is describing intelligence of the mind, 'Wisdom' is the intelligence of the heart.

The obvious, while both are adjectives, one can also be a verb, the other a noun.

Smart = What
Wise = How

Smart - the long-term and inferior choice to acquire many individual pieces of information, which eventually enable one to interface with the world in a relatively skillful way

Wise - the instant choice of the ever-present inner truth which allows one to face anything with equal ease

A smart person knows a lot of things, and can quickly recall fact/figures from memory. Usually a good test taker, and works well as an accountant, economist, or politician. Smart people are more than capable of making stupid decisions, and what's worse, may have a hard time learning from or admitting to these mistakes.

A wise person, not only knows a lot of things (knowledgeable), but also has learned from personal life experience and that of others. A wise person makes the best leader, since they are smart, humble, and spiritually adept. He/She learns from mistakes and is willing to admit making them.

Ron Paul = Wise

Being smart means you think you know a lot. Being wise means you think you know nothing.

Also, if you're smart, you have a lot of knowledge but if you're wise you know what to do with that knowledge.

No smart person would have an avatar of a poodle in a tin foil hat in front of an American flag.
