Michael is specifically named in the Bible at times he shows up
this is surmisal but I would think if Apollyon were Michael the Bible might say that
again -- open for interpretation. conjecture
to categorically dogmatically state who Apollyon is and what he does beyond what the Bible says is -- in my opinion -- unwise.
and probably unnecessary. anyone can guess and post an opinion. but it is still just that -- a guess. I get a weird feeling researching -/ like I'm looking into things I ought not.
remember if even an angel comes along preaching a different gospel, we are not to regard it. and we are never to worship angels. repeatedly they told people not to in the Bible
stick close to Jesus and the Bible -- the gospel message -- and you can't go wrong :-)

Is one group preaching a different gospel or is the interpretation of the gospel just different?
Another case in point, is Apollyon a demon or an archangel of God?
Am I preaching a different gospel when I say Apollyon is an archangel, or is my interpretation of the gospel just different?
When Michael comes, he will reveal the correct interpretation of the entire sacred scriptures, but most christians will not agree with his interpretations, and therefore will reject him as an antichrist.
Now if your interpretation of the gospels (or the sacred scriptures) is wrong, do you really believe you have accepted the true gospel of Christ?
No single denomination or sect of christianity today can claim that their interpretation of the gospels is 100% correct, and this is the reason why the power of the Holy Spirit does not manifest in the churches nowadays.
Michael will come to correct this, and those who accept the truth he preaches will receive the power of the Holy Spirit, in the same manner that the 1st century christians did during Pentecost.
