From what I see on this thread, most people who consider themselves spiritual because they belong to no organized religion, have only masked their religious spirit by the own devices.

Do you have your own "how to" program you follow?, is your spiritual life based on your actions?
Can you not see that you have developed your own religion?

How to love is a religion in itself, because it glorifies how well a person´s image is. All that progresses is based upon a scheme, or a man-made plan. This is religion.

If we are on a path that is dependant upon our accomplishments, then we are religious.

Religion masks itself in many faces, but they all have the same bottom line, and that is the practice of good and evil. Self help books are dependent in being successful by how well a person follows the plan laid out, This is nothing more than religious striving to be a better person.

All of this is at enmity towards God, God ´s view of a person´s image is based on whether they accept His free gift through Christ, or whether they seek righteousness on their own.

And if we reject God´s free gift of righteousness through Christ, then we are dead spiritualy in our trespasses and sin, no matter what we think can bring karmic balance, karmic balance does not erase the wrong previously committed.
