Whether the towers fell "at free fall" speed or not, there is no way anyone is every going to convince me that they fell ONLY because of the plane hitting them....yes it caused a fire in each building, and yes there was the jet fuel.......still does not make any sense. I would have expected the towers to partially fall - like maybe the top part above each plane to tumble over, but watching the way the towers DID fall - just does not seem like a plane would cause that, just my opinion, and I really don't care if people disagree with me. UNtil I'm shown proof 110% that it was just the planes, I wont believe it. I've seen people try and give "proof", but it still just doesnt add up.

A natural fall from a heated steel structure, partly broken framing and even random explosions at say one or two or even 3 sections on a building of this size during the fall it would still take longer time for the building to fall as it would cause large resistance in the sections that are not damaged, and remember heat mainly travels upward and steel framing below cools it off as a big heat sink, especially the beams that were still coated by asbestos as they were so the lower parts would not have high temperatues at all, most of the jetfuel were wasted in the initial blow as would be expected,

the 3 buildings falls in the same speed as a typical controled demolition.

Often mentioned as a likely Obama nominee to the Supreme Court, Sunstein is currently Obama's head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs where, among other things, he is responsible for "overseeing policies relating to privacy, information quality, and statistical programs." In 2008, while at Harvard Law School, Sunstein co-wrote a truly pernicious paper proposing that the U.S. Government employ teams of covert agents and pseudo-"independent" advocates to "cognitively infiltrate" online groups and websites -- as well as other activist groups -- which advocate views that Sunstein deems "false conspiracy theories" about the Government. Therefore, for free fall speed it would take about 9.22 seconds to fall.

Page 305 of the 9/11 Commission Report states, "At 9:58:59, the South Tower collapsed in ten seconds, .... The building collapsed into itself, causing a ferocious windstorm and creating a massive debris cloud." (Chapter 9. html, pdf)

The August Fact Sheet (Answers to Frequently Asked Questions) by NIST states, "NIST estimated the elapsed times for the first exterior panels to strike the ground after the collapse initiated in each of the towers to be approximately 11 seconds for WTC 1 and approximately 9 seconds for WTC 2." (Question #6.)

The height of the South Tower (WTC2) is 1362 feet, and the height of the North Tower (WTC1) is 1368 feet, which are nearly the same.


The difference between 9.22 seconds and 10 seconds is negligible.

If these towers fell at freefall speed for the declared times of their falling (by accepted sources), then:

10 seconds freefall = 1610 feet. 242 feet more than height of WTC.
11 seconds freefall = 1948.1 feet. 580 feet more than height of WTC.


Time required to fall 580 feet at that time (10 seconds) about .5 seconds, so that is why the 10 or 11 second time seems to be agreed by 'currently accepted sources.'

So, therefore, difference from freefall speed is eight tenths (8/10) of a second...

So, I am to believe that a skyscraper built to last for a hundred years that cost millions of dollars built with concrete and steel was able to offer only .8 seconds of resistance from freefall?
