Monbazillac User ID: 8958455 Italy 02/24/2012 07:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Actually the Pope can resign and historically there were a few popes who did resign from their post. Quoting: Aromaz 11361495 One interesting such incident is Pope Benedict IX in 1046. In 1294 Pope Celestine V resigned after only 5 months in the post. benedict IX was excommunicated meaning no more part of the catholic church, it's not equal to resign. all these popes were not as powerful as the actual pope, the vatican was not a state and the kings/emperors were the masters + the last one lost the job because of the schism. here are the reasons a pope can use to leave his job, the cardinals are the ones whom take care of the work now when the pope is not capable to do it. it happened with john paul II, the old dude was almost dead and still in charge until his death... There is not going to be another pope after this one. For something like 24 or 26 years at least? It is also indicated in other prophesies that this last pope will be killed by soldiers. I was thinking about that as well. This one could be the last one and there really isn't another "pope" after this one. But then again it's possible someone will temporarily take his place but not really be a "pope". GET SAVED: Thread: Are you SAVED from DAMNATION? "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." -- Galatians 5:14-26 |

Paul User ID: 18242385 United States 06/19/2012 05:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just Finished "Petrus Romans" by Thomas Horn Dissappointed....uses title to sell the book...Letter to author below To Thomas Horn, The Author, I was quite interested in reading your book after hearing you on Coast To Coast. Having grown up Catholic, I'm aware of many problems the Church has brought on itself over the centuries right up to the present time. Certainly the last 10 years of the pedophelia scandal has and is still the most disgusting subject both from the victims stories as well as the complete coverup by local parishes, Dioceses straight through to the Vatican. I was born in Boston and live in the city as I have for 63 years. This latest Church scandal was uncovered here, first. So for the past 10 to 15 years we have had a personal front seat to this devastation. But I am not writing to you, dissappointed at either the facts you present concerning the Catholic Church, its history as well as its lack of integrity. The reason I am writing is that you used this book, especially the title "The Final Pope is Here....Petrus Romanus" and subsequent interviews like the one on Coast To Coast to sell 1000's if not 10's of 1000's of copies. If the book read the way your presentation on the radio presented it to be...it would have been an exciting history of.... what if this prophecy occurs....the mystery and documentation of those suppositions you presented. Even the cover and back of the book entice a reader that what is inside those covers will be the story that was promised by the author....... What you did is DUPE the purchaser. What you have presented was a history of a heretical (your conclusion) church that has taken upon itself, centuries of deceit and worse..debauchery. The fact that you used the attraction of a mystery such as St Malachy's "Prophecy Of The Popes".. to write a book that chapter after chapter has Catholic Dogma as a whipping post.... is at best....Dishonest. It is NOT YOUR CONCLUSIONS about th Church I take issue with ...Its simply NOT RECEIVING What Was Advertised. So why NOT BE honest with the title of the book. ....This is why..... The Vatican holds Historical Mystery that most other subjects can't rival. Dan Brown's two novels "The DaVinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" proved that a subject on Vatican Mystery sells. This is precisely why you used the title you did. If you had titled the book "The Whoremother And Her Final Offspring"..History of Satan's Relationship and The Catholic Church" you would have been far more honest about what the book is about ....but an HONEST TITLE would not sell books. What you have done is not original. It's good marketing. It's been employed by supermarket tabloids such as The National Enquire for decades. Write a HEADLINE that sells the paper whether or not the story inside lives up to the title. Again, let me re-iterate, I have no problem with your facts concerning the historical/Religious dismanltling the Catholic Church is forever responsible. Your Biblical Beliefs Is something you hold true...I respect that as well. The problem I have is that you are misleading the public on the content and purpose of the book. I ordered 10 copies of your book so that I could pass them out to my 8 children along with sending them to friends that I thought may have an interest in a Religious Mystery and the Prophecy surrounding it. It sounded like extraordinary reading. I was dissappointed. I will discard the 3 copies I still have. I am sure you are a knowledgible Biblical Scholar. You should practice what you preach....Honesty Is The Best Policy even if you are simply talking about how a Title describes content. Paul Ulrich |
