Pope to resign in 2012. Petrus Romanus the next (and last) pope.
Some rumors surfaced today (September 25) in a Italian newspaper, about the possibility that Pope Benedict XVI will resign in 2012. So far, the rumors were dismissed:

UNGROUNDED THE RUMORS OF THE POPE'S RESIGNATION IN 2012

25 SET 2011

(AGI) Freiburg - The speculation that Benedict XVI will resign in 2012, when he turns 85, is "wholly ungrounded". This is the opinion of the high-ranking authorities in the Pope's retinue during his trip in Germany.

Do you know what it means?

Dou you know the Prophecy of the Popes
, from Saint Malachy?

Read about it on Wikipedia:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

The medieval prophecy says that the 112th pope after the year 1143 AD, a Pope with codename Petrus Romanus ("Peter the Roman"), will be THE LAST POPE, and will lead the Catholic Church trough Armageddon.

Guess what... Benedict XVI is the 111th pope... The next one is the 112th.

Great... The last pope of history, Petrus Romanus, will be elected in the year... 2012. Just in time for the end of Mayan calendar...

Please, could you take five precious minutes of your lifes to read about Saint Malachy's Prophecy of the Popes on Wikipedia?

The Prophecy has encripted tips about ALL the Popes in the last 9 centuries. The Prophecy is 9 centuries old.

Please, read about it on Wikipedia:

The article starts this way:

"The Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy, is a list of 112 short phrases in Latin. They purport to describe each of the Roman Catholic popes (along with a few anti-popes), beginning with Pope Celestine II (elected in 1143) and concluding with the successor of current pope Benedict XVI, a pope described in the prophecy as "Peter the Roman", whose pontificate will end in the destruction of the city of Rome."

The Truth About Thread: The FINAL EVENTS Of Bible Prophecy

"We here are of the conviction that the papacy is the seat of the true and real Antichrist." - Martin Luther (Aug. 18, 1520)

"While God has given ample evidence for faith, He will never remove all excuse for unbelief. All who look for hooks to hang their doubts upon will find them. And those who refuse to accept and obey God's Word until every objection has been removed, and there is no longer an opportunity for doubt, will never come to the light" (The Great Controversy, p. 527).

"Jesus did not come to change the law, but he came to explain it, and that very fact shows that it remains, for there is no need to explain that which is abrogated." - Charles Spurgeon

"Jesuit Adam Weishaupt established the modern version of the Illuminati specifically to be a front organization behind which the Jesuits could hide. After being formally abolished by Pope Clement XIV in 1773, the Jesuits used the Illuminati and other organizations to carry out their operations. Thus, the front organizations would be blamed for the trouble caused by the Jesuits."

This is the opinion of the high-ranking authorities in the Pope's retinue during his trip in Germany. The article published today on the front page of 'Libero', written by the writer and journalist Antonio Socci is, among other things, in contrast with the Pope's own request for prayers to sustain him in his mission that the Pontiff repeatedly addressed to believers worldwide and that he recalled once again to the 100,000 German Catholics participating in the mass that he celebrated on the grounds of the Freiburg airport

I thought death was the only way to retire from being Pope. I do believe some prophecies, especially of those deemed saints by the church. 1 in particular whereas every pope following the original whom gave the prophecy over 1000 yrs ago stated Benedict(not by name but nationality) is short-term, the last pope and he would hand over the church to the devil.

Re: Pope to resign in 2012. Petrus Romanus the next (and last) pope.
If you really look at the prophesy; you might notice that Pope Benedict is actually 'Petrus Romanus'

The reference to Petrus Romanus is valid for ALL the popes; the Pope being the representation of the original apostle Peter; the one on whom the church has been built. There is not going to be another pope after this one. For something like 24 or 26 years at least?

It is also indicated in other prophesies that this last pope will be killed by soldiers.
