NICT Real Time Magnetosphere Simulation is back up. Anyone seen it look like *this* before?

no actually i don't know, but maybe this is something to do with some other thing in space or something - maybe they were right about it being between earth and the sun today?

The 'data' on that page is falsified, for what reason I do not know, since conflicting data is readily available from other NOAA sources that prove beyond a doubt they are lying. The density and velocity of protons for instance is WAY too low!

You know the images of the magnetosphere are not based in real data, but are simply simulations, right? This is just disinformation, and no, it does not show the magnetosphere in trouble, it shows it holding without stress

Now I see, sorry. The strip is actually part of the magnetosphere pressure, but its not that curved as usually.

Starting to come back to life now...

That was at the start of it coming back online.

I'm beginning to think the poster who pointed out that maybe it was glitching because it was just coming back online had a point.


It looks much more normal now.

The graphs are still not showing correct information, but the simulations are much more inline with what I've seen in the past.

And even the graphs are looking more normal now. They're not flatlined anymore.

Due to a poweroutage you have to wait about an hour or two for the simulation to build up again.

Nothing to worry

But there timing is impeccable
