In response to what mrswilliams asked: Briefly can you explain the difference between the ionosphere and magnetosphere?

I hope this helps a bit =)

The magnetosphere (magnetic field) shields the surface of the Earth from the charged particles of the solar wind and is generated by electric currents located in many different parts of the Earth. It is compressed on the day (Sun) side due to the force of the arriving particles, and extended on the night side.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

The ionosphere is a part of the upper atmosphere, comprising portions of the mesosphere, thermosphere and exosphere, distinguished because it is ionized by solar radiation. It plays an important part in atmospheric electricity and forms the inner edge of the magnetosphere. It has practical importance because, among other functions, it influences radio propagation to distant places on the Earth.

Guys...the weather here in washington is fucking crazy. Its supposed to be rainy and cold in WA this time of year...for about 3-4 days before yesterday it was hot as hell, in the 80's.. Then yesterday it suddenly got cloudly and rainy...this morning and since about 9am it was cloudy ALL over the sky. Now suddenly 90% of the clouds are gone and its starting to warm up, i bet its going to be another 80 degree day..

My instincts tell me something is def up judging by the erratic weather.

OP trying to wrap my head around all this..

briefly can you explain the difference between the ionosphere and magnetosphere? I've been following a few other threads on this d-map but you know how glp goes
 Quoting: cremefraiche

there have been threads after threads on this. GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND< go educate yourself. PLeASe. If some of you here would do that more, there would be less BLIND LEADING THE BLIND HERE. NOW TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN LEARNING AND STOP ASKING OTHERS TO PROVIDE WHAT YOU CAN LOOK UP YOURSELF. BECAUSE MOST OF YOU THAT DO THIS, DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO REMEMBER WHAT OTHERS POSTED HERE ANYWAY. YOU WASTE OUR EFFORTS THUSLY. YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND THIS BY STUDYING BLING HERE FROM THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND. AS I SAID GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND AND MOST OF THE SOLAR SITES AND THE LIKE DO HAVE TEACHING ON THEM. I AM NOT JUST PICKING ON YOU, I AM PICKING ON ALL OF YOU THAT DO THIS.

YOU AND ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN LEARNING. AND THAT TAKES EFFORT BECAUSE IF YOU JUST COPY BLING YOU PASS ON THE BLING AND YOU KNOW NOTHING AS A RESULT EXCEPT BLING. THE BLING HERE ON GLP HAS INCREASED HUGELY THE LAST FEW MONTHS
. best you can do?

yes yes
i have been known to have 3 to 4 IE windows open just to fact check and rsearch things copy and past phases you do not understand. usually the first google page gives you definitions, wikipedia. that is a good start!
oh and never never research and fact check on youtube! only cool video's there. i have good luck sometimes witha google image search too.
a good video editor can make anyone say anything the editor wants.

May I suggest for added 'academic' interest etc - to use also 'Google Scholar'

Offers vast amounts of scholarly links and articles

PS - I suggested on a thread here last week, that with so much data incoming these days, it would be a good idea if a group of you here get together and form a kind of informal group to keep a 24/7 eye on solar and associated events - that way we would not miss a trick~!
We used to do it ages ago..
Here is a piece I wrote up in memory of our group - you may recall some of the names, they were the mainstay researchers a few years ago - sadly many passed on

I like this idea.

It would be a good way to keep all of the information in one place. Can we discuss?

and Mrs. Williams you could have gone and looked that up yourself which would have caused it to stay with YOU Much better. by asking some here, you will be given bling. And the above is a most in complete explanation. YOU GO DO YOUR OWN research and your reward will be much greater. YOu are being lazy when you ask others to do it for you. As I said, google is your friend.

And then after you have used google, if you are sincerely interested you need to bookmark certain site to watch for solar stuff so that your actual understanding then increases from your own effort to UNDERSTAND. Book learning is not enough.

Just a suggestion but maybe you could start a new thread for anyone interested in contributing to discuss this.

Reason being it's off topic and wanted to show respect to the OP

Hey, NOONE IN PARTICULAR, could you please let me know if you are harrassed in anyway by "Whoever runs USA"?
Like stealing images off your camera? Or other dirty underhanded tricks like making items just dissappear after you have just seen an item?

This has gone on for many years, really tired of such harrassment, have any ideas for a 60+ yr. old researcher? My health is suffering from this, now have bleeding ulcer that has more than soured my life. Any help?

EQ, SUn and ELnin, its quite funny but what ever thoughts stimulate the mind. I have some odd thoughts from time to time but tend not to remain glued to them or continue grasping at initial notions. If one does then they risk fitting all observations to connect with the intention of thought which is very subjective.

Higher than normal EQ events are only months away as our enormous bulging planet re aligns its axis, magnetic polar shifts occur and more so than anything else, one side of the Earth switches from cool to heat whilst the other is the opposite and hence there are tectonic shifts etc...

Who did I "attack"? I merely suggested Mrs. Williams and others TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN LEARNING AND STOP ASKING OTHERS TO DO IT FOR THEM, FOR OTHERS CAN'T DO IT FOR THEM ANYWAY. IT TAKES PERSONAL DESIRE. SO BE IT, THAT IS HOW IT TRULY IS. some of you did put your efforts into the teaching and thankyou, but she could have done it herself and she would have gained so much more for doing so. That will continue to be my message and it was also a nearly constant issue by jesus 2000 years and every other avatar that has visited this world. People MUST if they wish to have eternal life, take continuing responsibility for their own learning and stop copying what they are fed growing up as truth. This world is majorly STUCK, which is showing even with GAIA having difficultly moving forward because the people are not moving forward. I suggest some serious pondering on this one by anyone where who can ponder or wishes to ponder. Pondering is of God. That is what separates you all from the plants and animals. so go PONDER THAT ONE TOO. Get some energy flowing in a good way for self and thus for the world. :energy flows wit:
