Re: .ALERT!! *** 2011 SE58 ASTEROID TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT ON SEP 27 ***
As long as it is outside the earth's atmosphere, a "miss is a good as a mile" or in this case, as good as several hundred thousand miles.

Does it make most people nervous to have such a large chunk of space rock passing by, so closely? Of course it does. But as long as it doesn't change trajectory it will (Please GOD) zoom past and hopefully not harm Earth in any way. Have a little faith. Just as much faith as the mustard seed (a barely visible speck of a seed) can move mountains, so the Bible tells us.

As you go to bed tonight, ask for The MOST HIGH GOD, our CREATOR to protect us from this rock hurtling by us. There is NOTHING else we, as individuals, can do, anyway. Remember, prayer works when nothing else can or does.

well I wanna see it damnit! Dont you?

will be an amazing SHOW of light in the sky - better than trying to find that other falling debris -

I saw a huge meteor fall and burn out this summer - and it was so freaking COOL!

blew me away! It flamed out right before my eyes !
first I thought it was a fast moving airplane ,,,then it burned up ,,
I was so surprised - wasnt expecting it at all!

It wont hit but if it did, this baby is traveling at 6 miles per second and it packs enough kinetic energy to obliterate a city the size of NY.

Someone tell me I am crazy? But this one here seems very new to me.

I have not seen this 2011 SE58 on the list until very recently. I have been visiting [link to spaceweather.com] ... a few times per week, for the past several months and have not noticed this particular object before.

I know this because I have been watching 2009 TM8 and 2005 YU55. Both of which happen to miss Earth by less than 1 LD, which is an amount to take into consideration based on all of the other near earth objects currently being tracked.
Pardon me while I burst ~ into flames.

Re: .ALERT!! *** 2011 SE58 ASTEROID TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT ON SEP 27 ***
It misses the surface of the Earth by 230,000 km. No threat there. And "50 metre – Tunguska size
Objects with a diameter of 50-60 meters pass closer to Earth than the Moon about once per week.(6) "

[link to survive2012.com]

10 m objects are much more common, too.

"Objects with diameters of 5-10 m impact the Earth's atmosphere approximately once per year, with as much energy as the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, approximately 15 kilotonnes of TNT. These ordinarily explode in the upper atmosphere, and most or all of the solids are vaporized."

It will come within 0.6 LD Lunar distance (154,000 miles)

It is 13 meters (43 feet) in diameter and probably weighting several 1000's of tons.

That might explain quite a few unexplained things going on!

I wonder if the inbound CME(s) will affect it.

Good find. 5* hf
