Sorry friend, I too have asked previously for an indepth explanation of this graph.
All I can tell you is that this graph is showing you the current condition of the 'd region' of ionosphere, Which is just approx 70-90 kms above earths surface. This is the layer of ionosphere closest to the earths surface.

And to my understanding this means that the solar flares may effect us in the regions where you see 'red'
