They have the thing in obit already, but they're talking about a stage 4 booster in 8-15 mins, and keep saying that it's 'down range'. Wtf?

Sounds like a missile to me. Doesn't an icbm take like 20 something minutes to strike a target?

Just out of curiosity, before the launch the sunrise was beautiful but then the background got really dark and it seemed like the sky was dramatically darker. Anyone else notice that?
 Quoting: TrixieMama

I believe they filtered it so that it would not be total white during the flash of the launch...

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has been put on red alert in view of possible American action. Modern fighter aircraft have been deployed at the western border.

Some circles have raised the fear of a US air attack from Afghanistan on North Waziristan. PAF has been alerted as a defensive measure. Air surveillance has also been made more effective by the PAF.

This is interesting as normally they launch satellites from near the equator: you get a free 1000 mph from the earth's rotation.
Why do it from Alaska?

And doesn't anybody think it's funny that the Navy used a civillian launch center, all the way up in Alaska, to put a Tactical Military Communication satellite in orbit? And why is it that I cant find anything on this launch from anyone other than their local news, who put out one report?
These things are always interesting for space nuts, so nasa advertises it like the superbowl to it's fans.

And why dont they use Texas or Kennedy like every other launch they've done?

Hummm, makes you wonder doesn't it.

They launch here occasionally for what ever reason, maybe has something to do with our orbital position at the time??

How WWIII will start is a great topic for a POLE.

Who is up for the chance at GLP glory (Ooo a pin!)

Between 1)Israel ready to shoot the Palestinians and 2) Iran, 3)Pakistan ready to shoot if the US steps foot or flies over its Country without permission, China making an agressive move to support Pakistan (a likely ally against India), 4)Russia being provoked with US plans of a new installation of nucleaar missiles on the border with Poland and the British talking shit about Russia's Finances, 5) Turkey taking aggressive positions against Israel and Greece?, 6)a myriad of secret violations of soverign goernment's rights (ex. Libya) 7)a likely financial crash that will inflame all nations agains the West
