Reptilians are known by this name because their skin and eyes resamble Earth's reptilians. They are actually descendants of reptilian species just like Earth's ones, but in their case they looked a little bit more like monkeys. Their ability to make tools created a necessity for acquiring more knowledge just like how it happened with us, humans.
