It bonds us eternally, it's what makes our computers work, it's what's in my morning cup of coffee, it's the thing that keeps the universe from vanishing due to lack of belief... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1217217 United States 09/28/2011 02:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 5 years from now, 500oz gold 50 years from now, almost certainly the same 500 years from now? US notes like today's will probably be worth a lot of money as a collector's item, having long been destroyed (and maybe possession is even illegal then). Hopefully humanity has figured out a monetary system that works on the people and their products of their labors rather than a minable gold, and space exploration may face that to happen if we discover vast gold stores off the planet somewhere. So 500 years from now? Somewhere between the collectable bills and neither. The Rip Van Winkle Caper [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

MARTIAL LAW User ID: 1282080 United States 09/28/2011 02:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | essentially the question is: Will gold EVER be worth more than 2000 dollars? And the answer is: HELL YES! :martiallaw4: “The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it.” Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. ~9/11 Was An Inside Job! |

Be my luck...500 yrs. future...we would be using horse and buggies and I would have to get rid of my oil producing mess. Maybe the mineral rights would be lucrative. If it was magic treasure...a book with all the history, pictures, drawings of the entire Earth life. We only know a tiny bit of the Earth's history. |

Quoting: Freedom From Fiat You can buy a lot of Gold with $1,000,000 at least for a while. At $2000/oz you could buy 500oz with $1M - only about a 30% increase in the gold price from where it currently stands, though it damn near got there just the other day. |

Gold is great if society went back to some sort of normal semblence, but I doubt that it would. Gold wont do much good it has been outlawed. And we know that eventually, like in France, that will happen worldwide. It gets hard not to judge, until I look in the mirror. |
