Is their a reason that the EMS keeps interrupting Programming every day now the third day?
This is the third day now that the Emergency Broadcast System has interrupted the ABC Channel or Fox Channel as testing their system, is this normal?

I am in San Diego County...

EAS Required Monthly Test Schedule
San Diego County Operational Area

January - December 2011

The LP1 (Local Primary) will generate the "Required Monthly Test", during each of the five minute windows listed below.

FCC rule Part 11, requires all participating radio and television stations, and cable systems, to rebroadcast (relay) the RMT within 60 minutes of receiving it.

Each Required Monthly Test is scheduled to occur on the first Wednesday of each month in compliance with the following FCC requirement . . .

"Tests in odd numbered months shall occur between 8:30 a.m. and local sunset. Tests in even numbered months shall occur between local sunset and 8:30 a.m." (CFR 47, 11.61)

Required Monthly Test (RMT) Schedule for year 2011.

January 5, 2011 2:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
February 2, 2011 4:45 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.
March 2, 2011 2:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
April 6, 2011 4:45 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.
May 4, 2011 2:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
June 1, 2011 4:45 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.
July 6, 2011 2:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
August 3, 2011 4:45 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.
September 21, 2011 10:15 a.m. (Approximate time)*
October 5, 2011 4:45 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.
November 2, 2011 2:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
November 9, 2011 9:00 a.m (National EAS Test)
December 7, 2011 4:45 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.
* Test is being coordinated with 3 State Tsunami test.

They probably have to do it so many times per fiscal year to get their funding, and it is almost the end of the fiscal year.
