I am running the Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1 and I have been pretty pleased with it so far. The last Firefox I had kept crashing when I had multiple tabs open. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1509241 Google Chrome or IE9. So far IE9 outperforms all of them. I was a big fan of Firefox until I tried Google Chrome a couple years ago. Even Opera works better than Firefox. I love the UI of IE9, but I can't stand using it without add-ons. They are VERY useful and convenient. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2253738 all apps have a tendency to get fatter, slower and worthless over the course of "Updates" That is EXACTLY why I still run windows 3.1... lol hey 3.1 was great compared to dos Sure. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 2265221 09/28/2011 10:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to LOVE firefox. But with every update came more and more ads. Then this last update slowed everything to worse than a crawl. I switched to Chrome. Chrome used to crash but is now remaining stable and waaaay faster than Opera or Firefox. I still use Opera but only for certain tabs. And I use Firefox for private browsing as Chrome isn't working for that just now. I think Chrome is the best browser now. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1538028 09/28/2011 10:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | May just be mine but the latest update to Firefox 7 crashes even more, can't load more than 8 tabs (i use upto 30), and slows the computer to a crawl where even opening Task Manager takes more than 2 minutes, strange that my original Mozilla 1.7.13 from 2002 is still rock solid. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1548024 If its not broken don't upgrade it won't fix it ! [link to www.pcworld.com] f you're using a search engine today to find a download of Firefox 7, be careful about the results you click on. That's because a dubious website called Firefox7.org appears high up in those results. The site was discovered Wednesday by Sophos security expert Graham Cluely when doing a routine search on "Firefox 7." Firefox7.org has no relationship with the browser's maker, the Mozilla Foundation, Cluely wrote in the Naked Security blog. The site is registered to someone in China named Xiaojuan Zhang, who lives in Shenzhen in Guandong province. ***************** Where you all getting your FF7 from? And OP, do you operate any websites? :D |
| Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1548024 09/28/2011 10:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks for your comments I had tried Chrome and it was good for video I couldn't seem to manipulate it when using groups of tabs, then there was the lack of plugin issues and the interface was a bit simple, needs a pro version. Another thing on the Firefox when playing youtube or soundcloud for instance music would slow down while scrolling the browser. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1548024 If its not broken don't upgrade it won't fix it ! I've been running Firefox 7 beta for a while now and haven't had any problems like that. It's faster for me than the older version. Try uninstalling. Then download 7 [link to www.mozilla.org] and do a fresh install. It's like Windows. It's best to do a fresh install to avoid problems.
