She has had a situation where her phone rang and she answered and the drs. office was asking her why she called them. SHe did not call the drs. and the drs. did not call my mother. Hope that made sense! I'm betting that there is a "cross" between ONE side of your mom's line with ONE side of your neighbors line. It takes a pair of copper wires for each households phone to work. When one of these 2 wires is crossed, i.e. shorted to one of your neighbors wires, it can, and will enable your neighbor to listen in on your mom's calls. Sounds complicated, but tell the phone company what you suspect, and ask them to test for foreign voltage or grounds(from your neighbors line) on your mom's line. This will solve your problem, but you have to get a repairman who is willing to test the lines thoroughly to find the "cross". Good luck with that. I know she has has several reapairmen take a look at the box outside and say they have fixed the problem. I will tell her your exact words! Thank you!
