Why so many Emergency Broadcast tests?

I mean, 3 in a half hour? Isn't it overkill?

I just want to know if it is an Ohio thing, because the Warning said something to the degree of "An EAS official had released a mandatory emergency broadcast test for the following counties: Ohio until 9/29/2011."

Claearly a PsyOP, i can`t see why the system will need "tests" that often". You test something, it`s "working" and that`s it. No more tests needed.

That's true. Maybe there was lack of communication so that is why I saw it three times within that half hour....but I doubt it.

The tests are a bit different from the weekly ones I am used to.

Here in Central NY we are Time Warner customers. We are being told it is a network issue. I'd like to know if they are telling the truth? You other people that are experiencing this are you also Time Warner customers? We are getting the message sometimes 5 or 6 times in primetime. Here is the article mentioning it:

I have also noticed more emergency broadcast tests in the last month. I live in VA. There were 2 "monthly" required tests in one week and then last week a required weekly emergency test. Then with the national ones on 11/9 I'm paranoid something is going on. I know it sounds just crazy but I have never seen so many emergency tests on the tv in one month.

I don't have tv. I only have the internet. How am I suppose to know? I'm scerd. GLP needs an Emergency Broadcast System. Can you work on that Trin?

Here in san Antonio texas. We're getting at least 3 times a day and today was the nationwide test. I think I over heard that this nationwide test the first ever in history? Makes you wonder....

Its happening in new York at least three times a week at different times during the day not just at night and they mentioned the power plant upstate I live in manhattan and this is starting to freak me out already it's been going on for two weeks I'll do some research and let you guys in Ohio know if anything else happens or what I find out but in all my years I've never seen so many within such a short time span there is something going on guys

We have been subjected to the required weekly test for about 10 times a day for months now. I live in Alabama. I understand that they are trying to make a test that is nationwide. I guess so they can tell everyone in the country at the same time in all the time zones, "Good Bye!"

Seattle, WA. I've been hearing them on the radio while driving... Don't know how many a week but more than usual ever, and now today by a CMAS IMMINENT THREAT ALERT 2 on my cell phone... That has never happened...

May not mean anything, but this struck me as odd. I went to get a few groceries this afternoon. The store was bringing in a shitload of water by the pallet loads. The shelves were already fully stocked with water, so they were just piling it up next to the shelves on the floor.

I asked the guy if they were anticipating running out and he said they were preparing for the rush.

It's odd to me because you never see this here unless one heck of a storm/hurricane is headed this direction. Hurricane season is over. So I'm wondering what "rush" he was talking about.

We've got the same Shit in holland! Since november we have "EMERGENCY SERVICE" on national scale, getting an sms in case of disaster.they advertise it every 2-3 hours on tv and all radios

Had it happen 9 times in one day on last month. I think that's a record..but it still is way above normal in my area. Clearly the shit is coming and they'll want to give us messages on the EAS as to just how fucked we are.

So did Salt (one of the Mods.) who's in CO.

I think it was a letter and that the school will be closed for a few days.
