Re: Journey...from the dark into one's heart.
My own spiritual journey was born out of guilt---but that's another story. Maybe it took the yin to make me contemplate the yang. No beautiful metaphorical synergy.... Just a quest for truth and justice in a seemingly unfair world.

Was determined to find the articulation of the divine blueprint. In the process, I realized it was only to be found within myself. It was there all along. Mathematics---- maybe? Fractal numerology--- probably.... The search was what was important.

The past year has galvanized my own vantage point as an idealist. I've been on a journey my entire life as a crusader for justice. Without the duality of our collective experience, I can't say that I'd have ever truly articulated that to myself.

Life is magical and I feel truly blessed to be a part of this reality. I take comfort knowing that we never cease to be. There is no death. Only new horizons. Kudos to all for being compelled at this weird hour to profess our fallible humanity. Peace, love and Jerry Garcia to all and to all a good night

Honest thank you for sharing this message from Santa...I onced loved him very much, maybe...I still do - secretly. :)

I love how you mentioned mathematics, fractals etc. I feel there is something to that...maybe the numbers are codes that when we speak the right sequence of numbers, we access a key to free ourselves from the inside out. Reminds me of the book the Dohrman Prophecy. Oracle codes...

I love numbers. I hate math. But I love to look at equations much like I view poetry or art. Weird huh??? lol

Eulers equation...man I love that one!

peace to you and my best...

Dark Night of the Soul by Loreena McKennitt

My wedding song :-)

the theme song to a marriage that took me through my dark night of the soul.

We are all notes on strings in some cosmic symphonic evolutionary awaening. Beautiful to behold when there is no more to fear.

Every day contains something mind-bendingly wonderful and amazing and impossible and yet, divinely synchronistic and inevitable.

Welcome to Ascension. its unfolding in every single moment.

Isnt it amazing :-)

Re: Journey...from the dark into one's heart.
I thought the Dark night of the Soul is liken to what was spoken about by St John of the Cross. Mother Theresa went thru it to, until her death.

My own journey went fromyears of mountain peak enperiences and giftings to the silence. I also had an awakening of the kundalini. Enterred the state of non polarity and state of no mind, the to the state where the raindrop returns and merges with the ocean. I then enterred a state where all my giftings abruptly disappeared except for the silence. Even the Presence that I always had was now gone. My prayers seemed to fall on deaf ears or unheard and in this state which is constant makes me feel lost, or on a pathless path with no guidence or direction.I long for that connection again of the Presence and returning to my first love. I keep searching but I feel like a blind man, not knowing where I am going. I only have the good book as my guide but reading it feels hollow, as hollow as I feel inside. Anyways the following explains things similiar I'm going thru....

The term "dark night (of the soul)" is used in Christianity for a spiritual crisis in a journey towards union with God, like that described by Saint John of the Cross.

Typically for a believer in the dark night of the soul, spiritual disciplines (such as prayer and consistent devotion to God) suddenly seem to lose all their experiential value; traditional prayer is extremely difficult and unrewarding for an extended period of time during this "dark night." The individual may feel as though God has suddenly abandoned them or that his or her prayer life has collapsed. It is important to note however that the presence of doubt is not tantamount to abandonment—as there is a strong Biblical tradition of authentic confusion before God. Psalms 13, 22, and 44 display King David, the 'man after God's own heart' undergoing serious confusion before and anguish with God, yet this is not condemned or mentioned as being unfaithful, but rather as the only measure of faith that David could have in the face of such withering apparent abandonment.
snip...

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, a 19th-century French Carmelite, underwent similar experience. Centering on doubts about the afterlife, she reportedly told her fellow nuns, "If you only knew what darkness I am plunged into."[1]

While this crisis is usually temporary in nature, it may last for extended periods. The "dark night" of Saint Paul of the Cross in the 18th century lasted 45 years, from which he ultimately recovered. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, according to letters released in 2007, "may be the most extensive such case on record", lasting from 1948 almost up until her death in 1997, with only brief interludes of relief between.[2] Franciscan Friar Father Benedict Groeschel, a friend of Mother Teresa for a large part of her life, claims that "the darkness left" towards the end of her life.[3]
snip....

Western Buddhist meditators and teachers regularly compare this experience to the Dark Night, for example Jack Engler[6]:

The 16th century Christian contemplative, St. John of the Cross, called this phase "the dark night of the soul" for the same reason: the night is dark because it is overwhelmingly clear that neither God nor the soul nor the self as we knew them are any longer to be found. There is instinctive recoil and withdrawal: nothing seems sufficiently worth doing or caring about without them.

Very nice post. Thanks so much. Such a nice change from the anger on here lately. But today was a special day. There was an amazing energy in the world today. So finding a beautiful post like this didn't surprise me, sorta went along with the energy of the day. Not sure what is up in the world, but love and light were pouring in. Did anyone else feel it ?

Dark night, yes, I know it . Been there and back again. The pain is something you embrace and even love, for without it there is no growth. Even a life time of dark night can be something to embrace with some gratitude. And when you grow to weary, turn to nature, she is always there to heal. Love your bird story, OP, have many such stories myself. The Universe is such an amazing place beyond words. Such an amazing place....

Thank you so much for the music choice. I will now have a new peace maker to listen too while I meditate and sleep.

The world is changing. Some are too wrapped up at the moment but I feel we will all progress in our own time frame. The rabbithole is deep but worth every minute of it.

Peace to you

the dark night comes in many forms and is different for most of us. we don't all have the same memories and purpose. the speed and volume of the darkness we process can vary more than night and day

this blind phase is common, one of the final stages. the spark will return my friend. it never went out

Re: Journey...from the dark into one's heart.
We have cycles of highs and lows as we progress spiritually.

They get longer and more intense on both sides as we go.

I came upon a point so dark and so long and every time i thought it was ending, it wasn't.

Years, like three or four, pure misery. Like being in a dark abyss of gloom and doom. But always remembering the spiritual highs too, always trying to recover but practically just barely functioning almost on autopilot.

And then slowly it started getting better but always dreading it wouldn't and I'd fall back in. Slowly very slowly things got better.

I've been fine for a few years now. Always on a high but always worried I'm just dreaming I've come back.

That's was my dark night and unfortunately, it's typical.

Best Wishes,

Frater

Re: Journey...from the dark into one's heart.
Hello everybody,

A year ago, when i knew nothing about spirituality, I felt like something was missing in my life, our lifes, the society.
I looked to the world as a damned place, one that could only be destroyed, one filled with fear.

By accident I stumbled on some spirual books and met some people who are into spirituality (coincidence?) But I was sceptical. As my depressed months continued, my attraction to nature became stronger, thus also spirituality (this i never experienced before)

So I began to walk into forests but after learning more about spirituality I began to meditate in a place in the forest which is absolutly perfect, like in a dream. There are trees surrounding an open spot where the sunlight falls onto that spot. Sound of birds and animals surrounds the spot.

I began enjoying my meditations more and more.
so about 2 weeks ago I was in one of my sessions and I fel in contact with nature. I could SEE for the first time. (third eye) Goosebumps were emerging over my whole body. It was beautifull! Since then I am calm but if i'm back in "reality" I always get the feeling that people don't know anything.

Qoute: "Some say I hate people. I don't hate people, I just hate their ignorance." So I began trying to let people SEE.

Thanks for the music, it's good to know that people still can appreciate what our Mother gave us.

Let love guide you and banish fear.
Let the age of Aquarius begin.

Re: Journey...from the dark into one's heart.
Ahh, the blackening. Alchemical nigredo. I must say I am thankful for my most recent dark night, a six month time period (Nov '10 - May '11) immersed in disgust towards self and others, especially self. Instead of culminating into a suicide incident at the climactic night of it all, I spontaneously self-surrendered into the absent, silent bliss of nirbija samadhi.

The sun had risen.
I am like the space which permeates all objects, and is yet undefiled. I am of the nature of Absolute Consciousness. I can now cognize my Reality to be no other than That.
