it's a constant, straight line rise, but the rock is resisting more, because space is at a premium down there, hence the jumps.

[link to i44.tinypic.com]

notice how neatly the line bisects all the quakes?

I believe the magma is inflowing at a constant, unchanging rate, and has done from the start.

I also think once the mag 4+ quakes stop, we might see bigger quakes. Think of it like a balloon inflating. first off there are wrinkles in the balloon, and as these smooth out we get the mag 3- 4 quakes.

eventually OUR balloon, in air, is fully inflated, but still growing, so now it gets bigger, and pushes out into the air, only there isn't air down there with all that magma, there's solid rock.

this is the way I'm seeing what is going on anyway.

Very good analogy poster. It is exactly what is happening. The possibilities of this Island being split in half are increasing ever more with every new quake and pressure build up. Things are not looking good for El Hierro.

If Tsunami is created from an eruption I have read it would be 8 to 9 hours for it to reach USA.

how realistic would a large eq be in the coming 2-3 days? at this level of energy would it be enough to cause the massive landslide we're all watching out for?

An eruption in the next 3 days would be ideal for avoiding a Tsunami causing land slide. My fear is of total accumulated energy build up at levels much higher that could cause a Tsunami type land slide. So the more total accumulated energy builds up the more chances there are of an Tsunami causing land slide. So we want to see an eruption at low levels of total accumulated energy.

Excerpt;

Try to surf this: a wave almost twice as tall as the Empire State Building, and traveling faster than an airplane, at a breathtaking 700 kilometers per hour. Enough to give you the creeps, right? Well, it should. For the question is not so much if such a massive wave will one day slosh across the oceans -- but when.

A Wave of Destruction Will
Destroy America's East Coast
By Ian Gurney

Excerpt;

Recently, scientists have realised that the next Mega Tsunami is likely to begin on one of the Canary Islands, off the coast of North Africa, where a wall of water will one day race across the entire Atlantic Ocean at the speed of a jet airliner to devastate the east coast of the United States, the Caribbean and Brazil.

People always think florida would just be covered ... lolzzz... they do not understand Tsunamis ... the way height and LENGTH is all... it would never go over whole state - would just go inland how ever many miles then back out like all places... and the fear mongers on this site are sickening- there is even a map out for what a tsunami would do in Florida from that volvano crap forget how far inland it would go ... maybe 5 10 miles or something - lolzzz - or whatever... s226

Let's be adults. Its the newest information that will save people. The more keeping an eye out the better. We all need to get along geez.

What's getting freaky is that children seem to be picking up on this stuff with no previous info available to them.

One of my 6 yr olds woke up two days ago with a bad dream. He has not heard or seen anything about this. He said the water came over our house and we had to drive to new york. He saw two signs that read skyscraper and new york city that it was safe in the skyscraper. He does NOT even know how to read those words! Not to mention we live in southeast lower michigan. Very weird.

Yeah livin on the edge is right. Day by day anymore.
