I am guessing there is a window of time before the wave were to hit but coastal areas will be blocked with fleeing humans.

It is very doomy.

We know it is old news. But the warning given then was to look for an increase in seismic and volcanic activity in this area. That this would be a tell tale sign of impending danger and collapse of any one of them cliffs. It's not just La Palma and or El Hiero we need to worry about but all the chain islands in that region. They all pose a threat for Tsunami.

Using my phone to communicate.

Plenty of warnings will be given by these island chains. Just keep a close eye on them. Multiple quakes of greater than 3 mag is a clear sign of major quake pending very soon. Seismic activity along these island chains chains has increased to the point where a big one is not far behind.

i have been keeping track of the earthquakes there and they have been ridiculously high in number. when i mention it to others they kind of give me a blank stare like ya so what???

there have been a few 3 and over in the past few days which I thought was concerning but since they were 3s I was telling myself it was letting off steam but hopefully not going to blow wide open.

Scientist have found that an increase of quakes in 3 magnitude range is a clear sign of a large quake striking in the not so distance future.

i'm not sure if this system will warn of a tsunami in circumstances like this, but I have this on my mobile phone..

I have it on mine, and it can be a pain, when tsunamis are generated at 3am your time, but i'd rather know than not.

I like to think that in the event of a landslide generated tsunami, they will send a vital warning out. It might give you the minutes you need to make it.

My first time posting here. Thought I'd add that the new show on Discovery Channel - Curiosity - discussed La Palma tsunami threat this week. Topic was threats to our earth.

I like the title

these things have happened dozens, if not hundreds of times, and the earth is still here.

Here's some food for thought.... Imagine how many nuclear power plants there are within 50, 80 or even 100 miles of the coast....


We've just recently seen how terrible of an effect tsunami have on nuclear power...

The destruction of the wave going in and out would only be phase one of the story of destruction and horror.
