Much of what children learn is from observation. When a child, such as this boy, has only women around him he begins to identify with them. Women are the only role models this boy has. It doesn't matter how "loving" or "stern" they are. If this boy had a father figure to look up to, I seriously doubt that he would want to be a girl.

This is why children will often mimick their parents. Sometimes they see their father cross his legs and they will cross their legs. Their father stretches and yawns and the boy will stretch and yawn. It's part of the natural process of developing the child's identity.
