i did just over a day ago, just had a feeeling it had to go. now im thinking of asking facebook to remove all data that i have placed on their servers off them.

i want all messages sent to people, all interactions gone. deleted and not viewable by any third party, as they still are visible even when deactivated.

From what I've heard, when you "delete" your facebook it tells you not to login for 2 weeks to finalize the process.

Then what? If you even login a year later, all your shit will still be there. This is just what I heard. I went cold turkey on that shit one day and haven't touched it since.

It deletes in the sense that it goes dormant. People I know irl were like where did your facebook go?

if you want to delete your account, start by changing some information each week or so. Change your birthday, name, location, etc. just keep changing it so that over time, it's not you.

I understand that facebook will automatically generate fake messages from people on your friends list to try and lure you back. Messages like, I miss you, and you should have been there. Pretty creepy if you ask me.

Facebook is scary. If you post something about having a stomach ache or whatever ailment all the sudden you start seeing ads for products that cure your ailment all over!

I haven't used my facebook for nearly a year now. Thanks for the reminder... i just deleted the account for good!

I've taken it even further by getting rid of my cell phone and other devices and services I owned that tried to track me.

Already did. Should I open a new one so I can delete to join the movement?

I had a Facebook for a long time... then decided to get rid of it. I deactivated the account. Then, almost 14 months later, I was bored and wondered about old Facebook friends... so I clicked on the "re-activate account" button, and everything was still there as if never gone.

Now I am using it everyday again. DANG! Sad to say, but I'm pretty addicted to it.

Account is open for 14 days after closing it. If you log in one time within those 14 days, it will not close the account. That includes clicking the Facebook "Like" on other websites...
