Ok how's this for an argument (from another Christian who has studied as well):

1) If the Rapture is supposed to happen, at any time... be it pre-, mid, or post tribulation, then why does Revalatuion 6:9 say that they must wait "until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled."

2) The Seven Church Ages (as described in chapters 2 & 3 of Rev.) talk about the church being thrown up after they have drifted so far from the God of Israel that they eventually embraced the Antichrist. If the church were to deserve being "vomited out", then why would God rapture them away to bliss and safety if it must happen? Or are you suggesting the Lord would reward the backsliding and deviating churches without punishment?

3) John explains that at certain points during the tribulation times (including during the second half), believers will receive various protections from certain of the plagues (compare Revelation 7:3, 9:4 etc). This establishes that they will obviously still be on the earth at those points... So how does the Rapture figure into that?

I'll just start an actual argument with those three... and if necessary continue on gladly

I am sorry, but 12/21 and around doom predictions deserve a separate forum. I have neither desire nor capability to track all these countless predictions.

You apparently presume that "saints", or "the elect", or "servants", or "brethren" are always church-age Christians. But since OT believers were sometimes referred to in this manner, there is no reason that post-church believers can't either. Therefore Rev. 6:9 has no bearing on the timing of the Rapture.


First of all, nobody knows whether the 7 letters represent church ages. We only know for sure that they were letters to real, physical churches in Turkey in the first century. Second, by the warnings to 5 of the 7 from Jesus, it is obvious that not everyone in those congregations was necessarily saved. But if any were faithful, they were commended. And all who believe in the Rapture will tell you that this is for believers, not fake Christians, regardless of what church they may belong to. Jesus clearly has separate messages for both groups.


Already answered this one; there will be people saved after the Rapture.

But if you want to continue, you might want to start a separate thread since this one is just listing failed predictions.

If you take the original Richter scale not the - 1 point Richter scale as is now being used!!

Sorry to correct you: There is no downgrade of the Richter scale - it's an urban legend introduced by the Nibiru- and Earthquake-Tards.

The Richter scale was replaced by the Moment magnitude scale in the early 1980th because it's more accurate, especially when the neares seismometer is far away from the epicenter.
Since more than 30 years the Richter scale is not in use any more.
Even if the media refer to the Richter scale in reality it's the MMS.

I this case there were three stations close by. Thus the 7.7 Mw (MMS) may by something between 7.6-7.8 ML (Richter) but far away from an 8.5.

In general:
Small quakes 3-: Mw < ML
Moderate quakes 3-6: Mw = ML
Big quakes 7+: Mw > ML

First, the magnitudes of the earthquakes are measured in "moment magnitude" this scale is similar to the Richter scale, but does not saturate at the high end. Basically, you need the moment magnitude scale to measure large earthquakes because the Richter scale is based on shaking of an old school seismometer and after some amount of energy release, the shaking doesn't really increase. The moment magnitude however increases steadily with total energy radiated.

My favorite false prophet: Brother Stair! Or R.G. Stair, of Overcomerministry . I've been a fan eversince I heard him predict that George H. W. Bush would resign 30 days early and let Dan Quayle be president for a month, because the Israelites ate quail for 30 days in the wilderness! He's been making wildly funny false prophecies ever since.

The best part of his broadcast is when he argues with other fundies, as well as sarcastic unbelievers.

Where to find him? AM stations, late at night, all over the Short Wave band, and on the internet. He preaches vigorously day and night.
