Pretty much. But there's a good chance other potential leaders may step up within their own nations if Ron Paul can provide an example. If America can do it, everyone else can easily.

I suppose it'd be a bit like the Egypt effect. One achieves something then the people in the neighboring ones want a piece of it too, just the complications may differ country to country.
