god made sabath for the man, not man for the sabath. as you get older, you'll hopefully learn to take everything in moderation. aside from living for christ, you need to also live. and that requires balance. dont go down that bad road. keep your bearings. get through the days of play. dont do anything stupid like knock some chick up while you're high. if you must smoke, do so in moderation, and make time for scripture while you smoke. it will definitely enhance your perspective of the word. also educate yourself on other scripture. ganja is God's ritalin. use it to your advantage. remember that God isnt a bearded guy in a chair, he's all of creation at once. so dont take yourself so seriously or you'll defeat the entire purpose. have fun, be smart and mature, and learn at the same time. 'God' wants you to become wise by any means. wisdom comes through knowledge which comes through experience. just be moral and smart. restrain. balance. and moderation.

find me a doctor who can design a seed.
that grows a plant.
that makes everyone feel so good.
in body and spirit.
like this seed of ours does.
and if he gives his seed to me for free.

i will consider his and your religion, worthy of god.

money mongers!
sorcerers!
murderers!
prostitutes!

i however consider my self and many others
to be firm believers in god.

now concerning christianity.

the anointed(christians) are being kept away from the holy anointed oil. their salvation, brought to us by jesus christ.
which he was wrongly judged for claiming to be one of gods children(free).
but in secret it was about the holy anointing oil.
this is not hard to back up.

try debunk it.

do a short easy wiki search.

try:
hemp
and:
medical cannabis

learn that there is a difference.

and that there are also human rights.
and free will.

people are starving
and dying
from oppression from the truth.

god is truth.

go search for it, and we will be free forever.
together.

Eating pork is a sin. Isaiah tells us all who eat swine are consumed in hell fire. Not so much that swine is some sort of death food rather because those who are eating the unclean foods are not in the word of God. They are in the pagan world.

Jesus did not drink wine do any other drugs or partake the unclean.

Re: Is Smoking Marijuana A Sin? Christian Perspective!
Actually, the word translated "sorcery" is the Greek word pharmakeia

[link to www.godandscience.org]

Is smoking weed a sin? Although the Bible does not address marijuana directly, it does discuss other mind-altering drugs. Specifically, the Bible addresses the use of drugs in the book of Galatians:

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

So, where are the drugs mentioned in this verse? Actually, the word translated "sorcery" is the Greek word pharmakeia,4 from which we get the English word "pharmacy." The primary meaning is "the use or the administering of drugs" (usually associated with sorcery or idolatry). Since this verse comes from a list of things that if practiced would preclude one from heaven, this should be a reasonably strong suggestion that the Christian should not practice drug use. In addition, the book of Revelation lists drug use as one of the things for which the unrepentant will suffer the wrath of God.5

Perhaps you are not convinced because those deluded by drugs are telling you it is okay. It is NOT okay. If you really want to see the results of pot smoking or alcohol use, try looking into Dr. Amen's photos of MRIs done on the brain after chronic pot use or alcohol use. It deteriorates the brain - don't trust me -- look at the objective evidence.

Christians do not run around telling people to stop doing things because they are fun and Christians don't want anyone to have fun.

They tell people to stop doing things that are harmful to them.

Let me put it another way. In order for Satan or evil to work a couple of things have to happen. The first thing is a lie has to occur. However this lie is going to look very very close to the truth. Why? Because people won't believe something that is obviously a lie. But they will believe something that is almost the truth. Satan is very cunning. He makes something very bad look good. We have to really see clearly to determine what is bad and what is good because the two look very close. So remember that.

The next thing that has to happen for Satan/evil to work is that people have to be blinded to the truth -- those people surrounding the person whom evil is working on. So in other words when Satan is working he blinds the person to what he is up to and ALSO blinds those around that person. He has to do this -- or again -- evil could not exist. So again -- we have to be very careful to be sure we are not wearing blinders as to what is really going on.

The people telling you pot is okay are people who smoke pot. They are you telling you it is okay because they do not want to change what they personally are doing.

If you want to quit smoking pot -- try hanging with a different crowd. When you hang with the non pot smokers they are going to tell you pot is bad for you.

There are many reasons it is bad for you. The primary reason is that it is illegal and you have to compromise who you are to do something illegal. That is a moral issue. The second and to me the most important reason is that despite what other pot-smokers are going to tell you (and try to convince me of) is that it is harmless. It is NOT harmless. I do not believe that for one second. I listen through my walls to the guy next door to me smoke weed, cough and hack and spit and puke and then stumble to the convenience store next door to harass people getting out of their vehicles for spare change. He will be the first person to stand up and tell you how wonderful weed is. It sure is. What a wonderful life it is for him.

You are not going to be convinced by me, but yet I have a gut instinct that you know the truth.

When you are ready to clean up your life and move toward integrity, move away from doing something illegal that is affecting your brain and thinking. Move toward a different crowd of people.

You are asking the right questions from Christ who lives within you.

Good luck on your journey.

I do not have a PhD. I probably have several degrees from the school of life. I have seen more of evil than anyone who reads this can imagine.

Move towards the light. It is not the easiest route but it is the most rewarding.
the wise shall shine brightly like the splendor of the firmament, and those who lead the many to justice shall be like the stars forever.

When she shall die take her and cut her into stars and she shall make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night

Re: Is Smoking Marijuana A Sin? Christian Perspective!
I think that you really know the answer to this question, but I will give you the short and long version.

1. Short version. Yes, smoking marijuana is a sin. The definition of "sin" is "missing the mark". Using any mild-altering substance (alcohol, pot, any other non-prescribed medication) is altering your brain chemistry and by definition "a sin".

2. Long version. Why is altering my brain chemistry missing the mark? Doing anything that harms your body is missing the mark. Your body is the temple of Christ.

When did my body become the temple of Christ?
Under the old testament, animals were sacrificed for mankind's "missing the mark or sin". People brought animals to the temple and the priest went into the "holy of holies" and sacrificed these animals to God so that mankind could be forgiven. (OLD TESTAMENT WAY)

Under the new testament, Christ did away with the sacrifice process and BECAME our eternal sacrifice, for our past sins, our present sins and our future sins. So we went from having animal sacrifice to Christ being our eternal sacrifice. (that is why he had to die on the cross).

Now, since we don't sacrifice animals anymore, Christ also did away with the idea that we had to go to the holy of holies temples and pray through a priest. With Christ, our body now BECOMES the temple and Christ lives IN us. So because Christ is now residing IN us -- we have to keep the temple as clean as possible. Christ also did away with the idea that we have to pray through priests -- now we have a direct line from our prayer directly to God through Christ -- not through priests.

So -- the reason you cannot smoke pot, smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, or anything else detrimental to your health is because your body, once you accept Christ as your savior, now becomes a holy temple and should not be defiled.

Having said all that -- I think you already knew this answer but you wanted to see it in print.

Here is your sign.

In love.
 Quoting: aviatrix

Uh, yeah, don't listen to this guy. A medicine being prescribed to you doesn't make it any more or less a sin, in fact half the medicines they prescribe people are far worse than pot and cause irreparable damage to your body. As far as pot goes there was a good thread a while back pointing out that Jesus used cannabis oil, so take that as you will.

The churches that preach these things are sinful are well known for raping children and starting wars and siding with Hitler, take that into mind and make your own decision.

Pot is a plant that grows in the ground if God didn't want it here it wouldn't be around.

It makes you a nicer person and much more friendly towards other people, I don't see why God would have a problem with it and people editing the bible to make it appear that mind altering substances are "Bad" doesn't make it God's word. Remember the bible itself warns people not to alter it in revelations, if the bible was never going to be edited they wouldn't have had to put in this disclaimer. Be a good person, don't worship false idols and Gods such as the christian organizations that worship a cross, I think God would have way more problem with people worshiping a cross idol than he would with them opening their mind.

No marijuana is not a sin. Nowhere in the bible does it say it is. Xians will tell you it's a sin while popping a pharma drug. They will tell you it's mind altering then they will slam a mountain dew. They are a bunch of hypocrites.

Re: Is Smoking Marijuana A Sin? Christian Perspective!
I understand your situation. I used to smoke weed and read my Bible at the same time. I was a Christian and wanted to live my life in freedom and victory, but I smoked cigarettes and I loved weed. That was the hardest thing for me to give up.

When I smoked pot, it opened my spirit (unnaturally) and I could "feel" the spiritual world. In fact, it was the only time I actually "felt" anything from God. (At that time). My understanding was heightened, and everything seemed to be so much clearer.

The operative word there is "seemed to" be clearer. It really wasn't. My spirit was open, but I was yielding control of areas of my life to satan. I wasn't really benefiting from what I was doing except bringing deeper conviction and guilt into my life with no way to get rid of it.

There is one thing about God and sin. It's not sin if you don't know it's sin. But if you ask whether it's sin or not then you are admitting to yourself that you really do know it is. You're just look for someone to "give you permission" to do it. We are accountable to what we know. And the truth is when you smoke pot your thinker never turns off and you always mull over the real issues of life. This is one you can't outrun.
I will pray for you that God will reveal the truth. Just remember. God does know that you know.
 Quoting: drsharonschuetz

Thank you for that, what you say sounds convincing and realistic but i just dont know why it would be something we would have to stay away from because its not destructive in nature, it doesnt destroy the body and nobody has ever died from it! what makes it different from like caffeine or birth control, you know the list goes on, those are classified as drugs as well so what makes that ok and marijuana not when only the goverment portrays it as being so bad and so destructive but really just passes a bill to ban it so other companies can make money, before that in some states it was illegal for it not to be grown because it could create so much resources and as a medicine and it was free so there was no profit in it, so they banned it. before that there was no negative view on it! so my question is without all this media hype about marijuana or weed the drug that fries your brain but was an active ingredient in almost all medication before the bill was passed! Just looking at Canabis as a plant and the bible that we have here, what makes it a sin? thank you
 Quoting: xxterrencexx 2481038

I don't know if it's a "sin" or not OP, but I understand where you're coming from. I was a big stoner back in the day. My husband asked me, if pot became legal, would I smoke it, and I said no.......even tho I would really really want to. (just being honest here)

Reason is, pot and other mind altering substances do after your thinking and reasoning. While under the influence of artificial substances, you do things you wouldn't otherwise do, and you think things you wouldn't otherwise think.

It takes down your barriers, your reasoning, and your self control, which leaves you in a weakened state and prone to doing things that you shouldn't do.

Drinking wine isn't a sin, but being drunk is a problem for the same exact reasons. Now you know what the Bible says about drunkards, right?

There are also other problems too, like the fact that you could go to jail and screw up your life, and over what? Getting high? Is it really worth it? How would that affect your life, and the lives of your family and those who love you?

That said, you're still a spiritual baby, and you're doing awesome right now, so give yourself some credit. The fact that you made the choice for the Lord and dedicated your life to Him at age 20 is really outstanding. The temptations of a young person are very great in this world, so you are doing wonderful and He is very pleased with your decision to follow Him and your progress so far.

I'm just concerned that if you continue to smoke, you'll get spiritually weak and fall back into the old lifestyle that you've managed to put behind.

But remember, that Rome wasn't built in a day, and being a christian is something that progresses and grows over time. Pray to the Lord about this issue, and let Him guide you and answer you, He will if you keep asking. He will help you.

Peace my little brother, you're doing great.

Not all pot smokers are nasty old men rummaging for spare change.. Some of us are quite clean cut, work prestigious jobs, and live a spiritually rich life. Your association with weed and an "unclean life" I think is off base.

Re: Is Smoking Marijuana A Sin? Christian Perspective!
The only thing weed has ever done to me was bring me closer to God. Without I would probably still be 100% atheist. Xians like to place God in a box because they live in a box that was packaged to them by the illuminati.

find me a doctor who can design a seed.
that grows a plant.
that makes everyone feel so good.
in body and spirit.
like this seed of ours does.
and if he gives his seed to me for free.

i will consider his and your religion, worthy of god.

money mongers!
sorcerers!
murderers!
prostitutes!

i however consider my self and many others
to be firm believers in god.

now concerning christianity.

the anointed(christians) are being kept away from the holy anointed oil. their salvation, brought to us by jesus christ.
which he was wrongly judged for claiming to be one of gods children(free).
but in secret it was about the holy anointing oil.
this is not hard to back up.

try debunk it.

do a short easy wiki search.

try:
hemp
and:
medical cannabis

learn that there is a difference.

and that there are also human rights.
and free will.

people are starving
and dying
from oppression from the truth.

god is truth.

go search for it, and we will be free forever.
together.

it's a theory

people need to start to get over this mind-control.

this "religion of addiction" is massing hundreds if not billions of dollars into the pockets of the already rich enough.

and it's killing everyone else in the process.

study all history.
stop repeating/inflicting on others what you have been told ,
by greedy people.
in order to divide and conquer us.

Soon as they run a make on my name,

Now we'll try to put you away!

If it's so wrong, then tell me this,
Did God fuck up, by creating cannibis?

how many prescription drugs have you been forced to buy since youth?
 Quoting: Alert
