Here is my take: Smoking marijuana is a sin only because it is illegal. Breaking the law IS a sin, unless it conflicts with God's law. Which abstaining from drugs does NOT.
If it were legal, I don't believe it would be a sin. As long as it were used responsibly, and in moderation. Just like alcohol.
But the fact remains that for now, it is against the law.

As well as new findings showing possible links to mental illness caused by continual usage. So it is a Sin on many levels.
