Man youre a disgrace to the rest of us stoners, get high enough to SEE PAST RELIGION next time? Being christian is for dumb old fucks who got indoctrinated by the system so hard the shit is physically impossible to get out of their heads.. but a motherfucking 22 year old completely brainwashed by religion, worshiping an idol and expressing his love for his lord jesus christ, you fucking disgust me and I'm only a couple of years older than you
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2458875

Christianity is more than just a word called "religion." Jesus Christ is alive. Don't kid yourself bud. Your words make me sad. Hit me up on facebook or something sometime and I will tell you everything you need to know to understand Jesus, I didn't always believe either. www.facebook.com/chuckanderson12 . I believe I know why you are frustrated, but it isn't as bad as how bad you will feel if you keep this opinion. Just talk to me. Thanks.

Don't spread false ideas and criticism amigo, where is this frustration coming from? Being alive is not a sin. Smoking weed is unfortunately.

I guess that means its OK to smoke poison ivy.....
According to your interpretation of Scripture
Remember WHO first put their own spin on God's Word.
I do know from reading Scripture IN CONTEXT that HE
is REALLY BIG on Spiritually responsible relationships.
Most pot heads I have met are very limited in that department.
In fact, most of them have really lost objectivity about themselves.

Re: Is Smoking Marijuana A Sin? Christian Perspective!
First off before anyone reads this! I am a christian and Jesus is my Savior! I am sorry if you don't share my beliefs and i don't mean to offend anybody! Just looking for an answer and if you are not a christian you can still read this and answer! Thank you everyone!

Is smoking marijuana a sin? First off let me tell you a little about myself! I am 22 years old and I love Jesus with all my heart, hes the reason i live and have the urge to continue to live! I am patiently waiting for his return to gather us up to be with him! Over the last 2 years of my life I made a complete U turn, basically I was clubbing 3-4 times a week, having pre-marital sex, getting smashed 3-4 times a week (goes along with the clubbing) you know basically the life that we are all told is the fun and cool life to live! I was born into the church and attended my whole life but never took it seriously at all, Just basically thought o well if this Jesus guy is real then ill just go to church once a week and be ok! I thought i was safe but was really living no better than anybody else and not being an example to others. I started smoking week at 19 years old and would say i smoke about 1-2 joints a day (usually at night cuz it relaxes me and i like to munch out lol) So basically to cut this story short, took a step back at my life and changed it! I started reading the bible for the first time in my life at 20 years old and it changed my life! I felt the spirit of god and it was the greatest feeling ever! I got baptized about 6 months ago and it was great, I always put it off because i was embarrassed of going to the front and getting baptized in front of a church attendance of around 500 people! So basically through this whole experience and even though i have been raised in the church my whole life and knew almost every story in the bible I found my newly found faith and Found Jesus my savior!

I live my life to the best of my ability and have cut off basically everything in my life that was sinful! including the hardest thing Sex! Keep in mind i am in a 4 year relationship with my girlfriend and I wasn't living as a christian for about 3 of those years! so it was very hard to cut the sex out until marriage! It was hard but it felt wrong and i knew i was sinning intentionally!

So to the question! I still smoke weed, i enjoy having a joint before bed and i dont feel like i am sinning when i am doing this at all! God created all things good and i see nothing wrong with marijuana!

pretend the media never existed, and you never heard of marijuana before! If you were to see somebody roll up this plant and smoke it would you look at them and be like o my you sinner! how could you smoke that plant! I see nothing wrong with it as long as you use it properly, the bible states nothing is wrong with it and it doesn't affect my life negative at all!

Nobody can give me a concrete answer and I am always left wondering and praying for god to let me know if this is a sin! please help! any fellow Christians out there with any thoughts on this? thank you!!

Re: Is Smoking Marijuana A Sin? Christian Perspective!
Is sin really sine?

As in, a sine wave?

A sine wave is sound, we were all born in/under sine.

Marijuana is a flower that produce buds.

Defined as a weed from someone. Who?

Somebody does not want the mellow mood plant to encourage enlightenment.

These thoughts are brought to me by way of my Christ-like spirit of mind found at the highest crest of my body.

I see no correlation with a Christian perspective from the old traditional orthodox sense and marijuana in general.

Is there concern for other remedies found in nature? e.g. opium, hallucinogenic mushrooms, ect...

Why is marijuana always the issue with these types of perspectives?

It's a natural growing plant found in nature.

It's in my nature to smoke it. That's my Christ-like perspective.

So -- the reason you cannot smoke pot, smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, or anything else detrimental to your health is because your body, once you accept Christ as your savior, now becomes a holy temple and should not be defiled.

The bible NEVER says DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL.. it says, do not get drunken... I believe God put things on earth for man to ENJOY but of course, instead of man enjoying it, Man abuses it and rely on it and thats when it becomes a sin. When you totally depend on it! A glass of wine after a hard days work does no mean you are a sinner because of it!! We sin just in our thoughts!! I dont believe smoking a joint "occasionally" is a sin. Its when You smoke a joint and then depend on one again and again to relax your mind and control your nature of living or when you steal from someone to keep a supply of weed, THEN somethings wrong...LOL. I smoke every now and again to relax with my husband. I love the Lord with all my heart. My husband and I both work hard to maintain a home for our family and when you have worked all week, dealt with your children, as well as extra activities, sometimes you want to relax. So, My husband and I will go play pool made once or twice a month or get a movie and have a joint once or twice a month. I just dont see nothing wrong with it. I prayed for clarity on it...Not convicted yet.

Jesus was a Shaivite, he partook of the ganja during much of his early adult life.

Toke on, but regulate. Don't ever let weed (or any other psychoactive substance for that matter) become the high point of your day every day. I'm finding it to not be a very enjoyable way to live.

These are just my recommendations.

Here is my take: Smoking marijuana is a sin only because it is illegal. Breaking the law IS a sin, unless it conflicts with God's law. Which abstaining from drugs does NOT.

If it were legal, I don't believe it would be a sin. As long as it were used responsibly, and in moderation. Just like alcohol.

But the fact remains that for now, it is against the law.

Re: Is Smoking Marijuana A Sin? Christian Perspective!
I have been a Christian all my life. I grew up in a very conservative legalistic home and definitely would have said weed was a sin. After leaving home and getting married, all that I knew and was taught as a child I brought into question. I could not reject Jesus because I know he is real. I have felt his presence in a way that drugs cannot match, especially when I play music. What I did discard was religion as I was taught. I believe the Bible is the true word of God and is the guidebook for life, it is very complex and few understand it. That being said, I’m greatly disappointed with the church and believe that most churches are not operating consistently with scripture but rather on traditions.

I first tried weed a couple years ago with a friend. I did not feel like I was sinning when I partook. I researched the drug and understood that it safer than most things that Christians regularly partake in. The experience was much less than I thought it would be but different than what I had imagined. It made think about things from a different perspective, accelerating my reasoning skills. I found that it intellectually removed myself from my normal way of thinking for just long enough to gain different perspective of myself and to realize just how insignificant I am.

A year or so later I obtained some from a friend and my wife and I partook together over our anniversary. My wife was emotionally abused growing up and the baggage had crept into our marriage though I tried to keep it under the surface. After smoking, it was like all the tension and bitterness between us was removed and we could talk about our problems. We spent hours talking together and for the first time in our marriage I felt like we were on the same page. We have done this together several times and now enjoy an intimacy we may have never known. My wife’s chronic depression completely went away and we love each other more than ever. My wife says that she always had a feeling that everything was hopeless. Even though she is a follower of Christ, the years of mental abuse obviously made her mind process information in a different way. I never understood this and always thought she was just being selfish and unreasonable. My wife says that when we smoked weed together she was able to finally understand that no matter what life threw at her she was going to be ok. She says that she understands now that nothing in this world has the power to separate her from the peace of Christ. It has been over a year since we had these life changing times together. Even though we only smoke once or twice a year, she has never gone back to being the person she was.

She always pleaded with me to go to a doctor for depression medication because she often felt suicidal. I never listened because in church I was taught that depression medication was wrong because Jesus was supposed to heal you. I feel that God led us to this natural drug which he made to bring the healing she needed. We were on the brink of divorce because I was at the point I couldn’t handle the stress anymore and she was threatening to kick me out of the house.

Aside from this story I would have to say that in my own life the herb has helped me to calm down and realize that the things most people strive for in life are meaningless. I have found that I no longer have the same desire for fame or riches but rather for peace and love. I am an amateur songwriter and perform at church every once in a while. I have found that I have a deeper understanding of melodies and lyrics, the music flow together better and is less forced. Whenever I play dozens come to me (sometimes in tears) afterwards and tell me that they felt the spirit of God while I was playing. I feel my music is now less about me and my thoughts and more about Christ. I often write my songs directly from scripture now because I see no reason to pollute what God has written with my lesser thoughts.

As for other Christians, I think most of them listen too much to media and the government. Most haven’t even researched the herb without bias. The fact of the matter is it has far more health benefits than almost anything else we consume normally. The only negatives are I don’t concentrate as well for about a week afterwards but the effect is not long term in this area.

I’ve heard Christians use the argument that you can’t do anything for Christ with an altered mind. While this statement may have some truth, I find it hypocritical because I guarantee the person delivering this statement does not utilize their lives so that every moment is being used for the will of God (does this mean they don’t watch tv? Read books?). I find that I am actually more equipped to share the gospel now because I understand myself better and have much less fear of people and what they think when I share my faith. Also the way it has allowed my wife and I to love each other more has been a great testimony to others. We attend church every Sunday but I would never dare share any of this with 99% of the other Christians I know.
Is it wrong? I think it depends on why you are using and how it affects you. Does it cause you to sin? Do you feel guilty?

The only reason I don't smoke pot is because I have child and have too little money to purchase it, nor enough to bail out of jail if we're caught.
The only people that consider marijuana unsafe are the police and the government.
Even Pat Robertson said he'd like to see marijuana legalized.
If you're getting stoned all of the time and not functioning as an adult, then marijuana is not the drug for you.
If you're getting stoned all of the time and can function, or if you smoke only when you have nothing to do, then there is nothing wrong with it.

As Jesus said, 'It's not what goes in your mouth that matters, it's what comes out.' Don't be a douche bag and you're fine.

It is not a sin. Keep reading the bible and pray for eyes to see, ears to hear etc. Most of all, it depends on your INTENT and you will lead yourself -- the latter may not make sense now, but it will. Grammar also becomes fun, but it can drive you nutty. i.e. Wedding of Canna....what is root name of plant?

Weed is good drinking is good it's just all based on reason.
The hemp plant (scientific name: cannabis, slang: marijuana) is one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" created and blessed by God on the third day of creation, "and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:12) He gave hemp for people to use with our free will.

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31) The Bible predicts some herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall … speak lies in hypocrisy … commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:1-3)

The Bible speaks of a special plant. "I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more." (Ezekiel 34:29) A healing plant. On either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare 12 manner of fruits, and yielding her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (Revelations 22:1-2) A gift from God.

How was cannabis used in Biblical times and lands?

Cannabis was used 12 ways: clothing, paper, cord, sails, fishnet, oil, sealant, incense, food, and in ceremony, relaxation and medicine. For so the Lord said unto me, "I will take my rest and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs. For afore harvest, when the bud is perfect and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks and take away and cut down the branches." (Isaiah 18:4-5)

What about cannabis today?

Hemp today has thousands of uses. Modern technology has devised many new uses for the hemp plant&emdash;like biomass energy, building materials, fuel, plastic and so on. Hemp is ecological and its seed is among the best food crops on Earth. Selected varieties produce flowers that provide an herbal relaxant and a spiritual tool. Its herb is used globally as medicine.

Does the Bible discuss drugs?

Alcohol is the only drug openly discussed in the Bible, so it must serve as our reference. Wine is drunk during religious occasions such as Passover &emdash; the Last Supper of Jesus and His disciples. It remains a sacrament in modern church services.

Jesus began his public life by miraculously turning water into wine at the Wedding at Cana (John 2:1-10) when the reception ran out. The Bible distinguishes between use and misuse. It says, Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. (Proverbs 31:6-7) but Woe unto them that … follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them! (Isaiah 5:10)

Yet the simple joys of drinking were also sung. He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that maketh glad the heart of man and oil to make his face to shineth. (Psalm 104:14-15)

So you can say here drinking is ok and let's us do it but jesus does call that peron dumb think about that just because your dumb your going to hell I don't think so... Remember this "live as you wish, but live as you'll die today." that is basically stating do whatever the fuck you want just follow the ten commandments no if ands of buts. And you never hear him saying drinkers go to hell he just says people who break the 10 commandments go to hell. And btw I love Jesus!!! And I also smoke weed don't drink tho because it's dumb not wrong just dumb.

I dont think weed is a sin. Iv smoked most of life, never felt the presence of sin. I did a sinfull thing once, by mistake (which actually which turned to be educational) and the presence of sin is very real. "I won't do that again". It's not a pleasant feeling and just plain wrong.
I wont say what it was.
There are 100;s of herbs, this just happens to be one of the better ones. It has its medicinal values, pain, whatever. (enjoy it !) But don't get caught. Right or wrong, Its still not a sin. If ya ask me.
Murder, adultry, stealing, I believe there are 10 of these.

Only one side effect on neg. It breaks down the immunal system, were should be building it up. You can build this up with other herbs, minerals, vitamins diet nutrition, Detox, liver and kidney cleanse. ect.
If you asked is Cocane a sin?, I would have to say yes, because it kills. Maybe doing it may not be, but allot of deaths are the cause of it.
This doesn't happen with weed.
Christianity 85 % of America is Christian.
(though youd never know it sometimes) Jesus changes your heart so you enter heaven, wash them sins away. so dont take it all so seriously, regarding weed. Even the sex thing, (lighten up)people have needs.
