Here is little youtube clip from santorini history: Quoting: so-gui-li I stood at Knossos on Crete and imagined the tsunami that hit from Santorini. They tell the story so well - you can really picture the horror of it. I am about to leave the internet and hit the beach for a holiday until the New Year (that picture in my avatar is where I'm going). I can only hope that it all settles down as I am not going to be bothering too much with news bulletins. I will be thinking of you all and hopefully will come back in January to find that it has all settled down. |

Discolouration from undersea springs also more noticeable. Quoting: jgl 6168970 Wow - somehow I missed your post above. Thanks for telling us that its very interesting. That is because this place is really really important tourist place and it would be chatastrophe if they told the media that something is awful wrong and nea kameni/santorini could erupt. |

Quoting: so-gui-li Sure it would be a big problem as Santorini was Named “Best World’s Island” in 2011 by BBC Travel. It is the first time that it reached the top of the list. “In Santorini, you feel like no other spot on earth. Here, 120 miles southeast of mainland Greece, everything is brighter: the white houses, the sea and the sunsets over the caldera,“ reports the BBC. Unfortunately it can be number one also in most dangerous place in the world if caldera will show its power.Hoply not. I dont know what can cause that seismo movement. |

Magma spot also detected 4km depth. Kolumbus submarine volcano (Santorini, Greece): 3.2 magnitude earthquake At 19h22 GMT (21h22 local time), a 3.2 earthquake occurred at the little-known submarine volcano Kolumbos ca. 8 km NE of Santorini, Island, Greece. This marks one of the largest events in recent months. The submarine volcano whose peak rises to just 18 m below sea level, is located on the tectonically active SW-NE fault system across Santorini which confines most volcanic vents of the Santorini volcanic complex in the past 500,000 years. Kolumbus volcano last erupted in September 1650 following a year of frequent earthquakes. The eruption produced a large explosive pumice eruption, with ash fall recorded as far as Turkey, and built a temporary island. The main phase of the eruption triggered a devastating tsunami.... Anyway this is spot what to watch. I think there is coming huge volcano complex where is this place and santorini. Both of them shows really much rising activity. Things are going really bad way there now. |

By the way it looks likes santorini eruption is late now it normally date. It erupts every 30-50 year and then there is little eruption. If it takes longer there have been bigger one. Last eruption had 1950. That is not good. It is sure there will be eruption some day and in this place it is better that it erupts often and smaller. |

Seismos are really bad looking again and looks like there is lots of seismic activity. Plates are moving and it is true that every earthquake and platemovement makes magma here and place where it will came up some day is thera caldera in sanorini. Really good article about that earthquake and im also sure that will happen some day. Lets hope that place is not thera caldera. |

There have been three smaller quakes also today but in my opinion that swarm is not bad but now we had to check how many quakes there will be after this one. Activity is continue and seismographs shows that magma bubles beneath santorini. |
