Re: MASSIVE FIRE IN TEXAS CHEMICAL PLANT
Sabotage or terrorist?
 Quoting: Waterbug

I was wondering the same thing and if they will try to blame a "domestic" terrorist. Funny this happens right after both major DHS/FEMA drills that occurred last week in Denver and DC. Not trying to take away from the disaster and concern for those close by and the first responders; hope everyone stays safe and this ends soon.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

OMG--all types of chemicals are manufactured there. Anything from petroleum to ag fertilizers as well as food supplements. Local school has been evacuated.

Any info on how it started?
 Quoting: DT2

wich would mean, everybody in a 6 mile radius has to be evacuated, even 8 miles, fertilizers can become highly explosive at extreme heats...

I live about 10 miles from it. The smoke cloud is ominous.
Huge, thick black column rising almost straight up. Very little wind today.

Wow, that's scary.

No jokes, and I'm super jealous. The best we could do here in Cali was 1/4 acre. But we do have chickens!

He would probably be better than Romo. However, he has more important job, and that is stomping coyotes who want to munch on cows. Cheapest pasture protection around.

Re: MASSIVE FIRE IN TEXAS CHEMICAL PLANT
The company burning makes general chemical products "to order" for customers. So they have a whole range of chemicals on hand and depending on their current contract, the composition of those chemicals change from month to month.

The fire fighters really don't know what they're dealing with, and the feds are sending air quality monitoring equipment to test the cloud and its fallout.

As a side note, the amount of water it will take to put this out will have an impact on that areas water reserves that are already very low because of the drought.

The wind is blowing north very slightly. The plume is headed for the heavily populated DFW mid cities area. Irving, Arlington, the DFW airport, etc.

Waxahachie is about 20 miles south of DFW.
