Tito's Vodka really surprised me. I just tried it a couple of weeks ago, and I love it.

American handmade vodka.

It topped Ketel One, Grey Goose and Belvedere in a 'Wine Enthusiast' rating.

You'll probably never give it a chance, but tito's vodka is damn good. And a great price! My vodka of choice.

I'll bet most everyone would not know the difference if i took a bottle of Burnett's or Gibey's and put it in a fancy bottle (Tanqueray, whatever -- my dad used to pull this trick to be cheap when having guests). Mix a drink and you really can't tell. It's about the pretige.

Oops, I can tell. I KNOW what I like. That Gibleys or Kamchatka just won't cut it.

BTW, to the people who say that you can't tell the difference, that's true to a certain extent. If you're mixing it with coke or in a bloody mary, then you won't notice much of a difference, at least not initially. But the next morning, you'll be able to tell by noting how bad your hangover is. Vodka is supposed to be nearly tasteless and smooth. If you're drinking it straight then you'll be able to tell too. Cheap vodka leaves you with a bad hangover and tastes funny, where good vodka has almost no taste and doesn't leave you with quite the same hangover.

One last thing....If you want a good vodka that's cheap, then get whatever vodka that comes in the 1.75 liter bottles at your local grocery store and run it through a Brita water filter a few times.

They all suck. The best vodka I've ever had is Jean Marc XO. It's distilled 9 nine times and if you take a chilled shot of it, I swear there is no taste and no burn....Very smooth.
