Re-Named- 777 User ID: 523078 United Kingdom 10/05/2011 05:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi friend Aww sorry to hear that. I bought some goldfish from pets at home recently, they get you to fill in questionaires now about were they are going, how long have you had your tank, how big is it, and if you've got other fish in. Used to be able to just win goldfish at the fair at one time, without filling in a application form. Oh how times change. Better to live for today, than wait for a day that never comes. |

Quoting: Kung Fu Otherwise you need to add fresh spring water, melafix is good and carbon filtration is essential. Is he skinny? Yes, he has become flat and skinny compared to the 2nd one in the tank. I bought them both at the same time. one Gold and one Gold/black one(the sick one). I even had to show them a camera picture of the filled tank and filter before they would sell me them. Can't be doing all that again. "Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! " |

My baby Goldfish is on its side and twitching at the bottom of the tank. The 2nd Goldfish is staying close by. Yeah I followed the pet shop instructions to the dot. Quoting: Shephardi Sorry to hear that! Sometimes they are sick before you bring them home. Your tank water may have too Alkaline or acid.PH is vital. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever, is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, If there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. ~Philippians 4:8 ~Romans 8:31-32~ 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? |

A camera pic?, thats crazy. That picture might not even be your tank. They are gonna have to start following people home, and demanding to come in your house just to be on the safe side. All that for a goldfish but you don't need to do diddly squat to vote except to show up. No id...nothing. Ban guns to "save the children" but killing them in the womb is totally cool......I see; it makes perfect sense now. |

Do several partial water changes with temperature-matched clean water. Add something to remove ammonia -- you can use Ammo Carb in the filter or Prime to bind it up, you can also use a NitraZorb filter packet to absorb it. If the fish is suffering it may be best to euthanize it with clove oil (procedure is online). |

It's the only way to be sure. Oh and find that yelling out "Back to the light!" while bashing always helps.... Goodluck! This is my day, there are many like it...but this one is mine. |

Quoting: Shephardi Hope you didn't use any soaps or other chemicals to clean out your goldfish tank. Even a little residue is very dangerous. Those things don't live very long, anyway. Get your money back if they die so soon. |

You did all that you reasonably could to give him a good life. Just in case anyone needs to know a compassionate way to put down a fish... Scoop him up in some of his own water, with as little disturbance as possible, then put him and the water into a bowl or ziplock bag. Insert into freezer. Their nervous system quietly shuts down without panic, and it is simply over by the next day. I Support Our First Responders |

Tank water in a small container in a calm environment plus a small amount of clove oil to sedate, followed by addition of alcohol to euthanize after a few minutes, then allowing several minutes for the alcohol to work is much MUCH more humane than freezing. If one resorts to freezing, the fish should go into a bowl of freezing water with ice cubes in it to make the freeze process go more quickly. Putting warm tank water into the freezer where it can take hours to freeze is tortuous. |
