It is time to revisit the "coconut"
People from many diverse cultures, languages, religions, and races scattered around the globe have revered the coconut as a valuable source of both food and medicine. Wherever the coconut palm grows the people have learned of its importance as a effective medicine. For thousands of years coconut products have held a respected and valuable place in local folk medicine.

coconut oil rocks and will help maintain weight.

Virgin Coconut Oil offers great hope for those suffering from hypothyroidism (low thyroid function) today. I didn't even realize how much hypothyroidism was affecting my life till I started on the Virgin Coconut Oil and suddenly had energy like the Energizer Bunny! I also gave up the white toxins (wheat flour, refined sugar, potatoes, and other high-glycemic index foods) and that, in combination with my Virgin Coconut Oil consumption has made a tremendous difference in my hormonal balance, mood stability, stamina and overall energy. And, I'm slowly but steadily losing a little bit of weight without effort.

Coconut Oil: A-Healthy Choice for the Thyroid

Coconut oil, on the other hand, is a saturated fat made up primarily of medium chain fatty acids. Also known as medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), medium chain fatty acids are known to increase metabolism and promote weight loss. Coconut oil can also raise basal body temperatures while increasing metabolism. This is good nutritional news for people with low thyroid function.

Re: It is time to revisit the "coconut"
so many uses the coconut

this one is great

Homemade Coconut Oil Deodorant!

5 Tbsp. of Coconut Oil
1/4 – 3/8 cup of Baking Soda (the original recipe calls for 1/4 cup but I ended up needing 3/8 cup to get it to the right consistency)
1/4 – 3/8 cup of Cornstarch (you can also use Arrowroot powder, but I didn’t have any on hand)
Essential oils (optional)

I make sure to keep 2 in hand at all times. Besides the occasional itchiness caused from the bristly fibers, they have brought health and happiness, not only to myself, but to those I have shared them with. Even though it can take a lot of manipulation to get just a small amount, the milky cream that they produce is wonderful for facials, lubrication, and can even be enjoyed as a healthy, protein filled snack after over exertion from activities and work outs.

Yes, Coconuts are truly a gift from the Gods!!!

All batches seem to taste different from all the brands, but Vita is still the best 'if you can get a good batch'. None seem to be very consistent. Wish i could find some green coconuts where i live.

That's actually probably a good sign... natural products should have variation in them, within a certain range of quality.

I agree...but i recently bought a case of Vita and i couldn't even drink it...it poured brownish in color and tasted sour..the next case i got was great..i wonder if the heat of the summer has anything to do with it..storing these products in high heat warehouses.

I think that is probably a case that went off due to storage conditions, I would assume quality control on each batch would have caught that at the production line.
