Coincidences have been happening for hundreds and hundreds of years. In fact, they happened enough where people actually came up with a word for it: coincidence.
co·in·ci·dence
   [koh-in-si-duhns] noun
1.a striking occurrence of two or more events at one time apparently by mere chance: Our meeting in Venice was pure coincidence.
coincidence
1605, "exact correspondence," from Fr. coincidence, from coincider (see coincide). Meaning "a concurrence of events with no apparent connection" is from 1680s.
Conspiracy has been a word for much longer than coincidence.
conspiracy
late 14c., from L. conspiratio, noun of action from conspirare (see conspire); earlier conspiration (c.1300), from Fr. conspiration (13c.), from L. conspirationem, acc. of conspiratio.
People realized that not everything is a conspiracy, so they invented a new word...coincidence.
Some people here would do well to remember that not everything is a conspiracy.
Sometimes things just happen.
