Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1776320 So still can not see the comet remains, how is it for a comet to dissapear that way? Do you remember any other similar to this? The case for fragmentation is looking very strong. That would explain recent events. There is a formula for predicting if a comet will fragment at perihelion, Elenin was right at the dividing line. The case for that formula being correct is looking stronger... |

Quoting: JOHN PAUL 2813365 Hmmmm... The Moon rose in Lawrence Kansas around 4:40 pm today, bearing 100° T. The next brightest object in your sky would be Jupiter. Jupiter rose at 8 pm bearing 074° T. At 10 pm tonight, from Lawrence, Jupiter will be bearing 092° T altitude 23°. You can't see Elenin with a telescope, I don't think you will see it tonight. I don't know of any Comet that will be passing between the Earth & Moon anytime soon. |

Quoting: Ozicell It looks like you will need a very large scope to see anything. I will hand you another real conspiracy. Anyone notice the glaring inconsistencies with the two main images I viewed today? The one from this morning was said to be taken with a "5" refractor and ST10xmei ccd" [link to tech.groups.yahoo.com] yet, we are looking at Stars at magnitudes dimmer than 17. The images I received from Francis were said to be taken with a 20" 'deep space' scope, yet it appears to have trouble with anything dimmer than around magnitude 14. Exposure times? 'Deep Space' is not 0.267 AU? Anyway, I thought I'd point that out. |

The Truth About Thread: The FINAL EVENTS Of Bible Prophecy "We here are of the conviction that the papacy is the seat of the true and real Antichrist." - Martin Luther (Aug. 18, 1520) "While God has given ample evidence for faith, He will never remove all excuse for unbelief. All who look for hooks to hang their doubts upon will find them. And those who refuse to accept and obey God's Word until every objection has been removed, and there is no longer an opportunity for doubt, will never come to the light" (The Great Controversy, p. 527). "Jesus did not come to change the law, but he came to explain it, and that very fact shows that it remains, for there is no need to explain that which is abrogated." - Charles Spurgeon "Jesuit Adam Weishaupt established the modern version of the Illuminati specifically to be a front organization behind which the Jesuits could hide. After being formally abolished by Pope Clement XIV in 1773, the Jesuits used the Illuminati and other organizations to carry out their operations. Thus, the front organizations would be blamed for the trouble caused by the Jesuits." Bill Hughes (Author of The Secret Terrorists and The Enemy Unmasked) |

Quoting: A Voice In The Wilderness One more time. Comets have disintegrated in the past, they don't slow down, and they don't instantly scatter... Comet Elenin Could Be Disintegrating [link to www.universetoday.com] “You don’t see it it that often, but it happens surprisingly more than people think,” Musgrave said. “Van Ness just happened, but ever couple of years there is a comet that visibly breaks up into fragments, maybe about 6 comets in the last 10 years — excluding the Kreutz-sun-grazer family of comets which split and vaporize on a regular basis.” “But you have to remember that when a comet breaks up, the fragments stay in the same orbit. If it evaporates, you’ll have a mass of rubble and gas on the same orbit. People don’t seem to get that space is big, really big, and when a comet breaks up it follows Newtons Laws and the fragments will slowly draw apart, but over the timescale that we see them, the difference will be so miniscule.” Last Edited by TBar1984 on 10/08/2011 03:56 PM |

Comet Elenin – the final prospect [link to spaceobs.org] "...We spoke earlier about the probablility of such an outcome, but I considered it less than 50%. On the graph at left you can see a selection of ten comets that approach the Sun closer than 0.5 a.u. The red line shows the boundary, to the left of which, derived from J. Bortle’s formula, is the safe zone, but to the right is the zone of disintegration. The yellow color shows Comet Elenin, with absolute magnitude obtained by visual observations, and the blue is from JPL-NASA data. As we see, Bortle’s formula, all-in-all, doesn’t work too badly..." |
