Here is newsclip from karakatau.

Short translation:

-activity is lower. (there is only 5616 tremors per day)

-only 22 black smoke eruptions per day.

-alert level stays 3/4.

Well no panic there is over 10times normal tremos and only 22 little eruptions per day. And that video clip shows how nice place this is...

Re: Tsunami hazard related to a flank collapse of Anak Krakatau volcano, Sunda Strait, Indonesia (International Research)
Some news. I think they arent good at all.

- Krakatau earthquakes are going down. Now only about 3000 earthquakes per day. Problem is that scientist thinks that it is only huge rain weather which is cooling that place and activity is lower. That will mean it will collect more pressure.

Another thing is that it looks like there have been really huge eruption scale vei 8 at some point and maybe really often. Some scientist believe that whole Sunda Strait is one HUGE 50km wide caldera.

Here is good article that volcano name PROTO KRAKATAU:

5.3 magnitude earthquake hits near krakatau and Jakarta.

I'm really worried now because there have been really much this kind of quakes near sumatran strait. This looks bad now.

European tourists are going to watch near krakatau .

Well they did same thing in year 1883 when situation was quite same.

Result was interesting. Their ship captain save those peoples because he drive his ships directly to megatsunami and up it. All survive.

now there hits 4.8 earthquake. This quite far from krakatau but enough near to do some effect same plate where karatau is.

There is about 2.800 tremors per day now and alert level is III/IV.

Krakatau push white smoke and now there is clear weather.

Tourists hobby is take the sun and look what krakatau does.

I think we will see in this month what will happen.1 Goes it back to rest

2. or then activity will rise more.

Those earthquakes near krakatau speaks that option 2 is more likely.

Some news.

-Earthquakes are now 4000per day and this is lot of

-Krakatau now push up big rocks. I mean over one meter size rocks and some times over ten pieces per little eruption.

Is that sing that magma block is breaking because there is so much hot magma and pressure. I dont know.

-alert level is III/IV

Well nothing special.

-From scientist nothing worry this with this volcano now. There is only about 2330 earthquakes per day now only...

-Scientist remember that it is normal that Krakatau activity could be getting down after 6000 seismic activity per day...

-Scientists says that volcano now idling...

Allert level still III/IV because there is possibility that there will be near ash and volcano rocks or some kind eruption....

-Officials have told fishers that they had to follow isolated area which one is now 3km from volcano.

Okey some news from krakatau situation.

-earthquake activity is going down now. About 1000 seismic activity now. That is good news.

-It is pushing white smoke and not so much activity now. Same time scientist say that it is little bit difficult to see what kind of activity there is because wheather is bad.

-Then really bad news. It looks like there is huge magma block and it cannot erupt.

I think it is possible this place is going mode where pressure is so high that about 4.0 or higher earthquake can remove that block and then it is time hope the best and fear the worst.

Here some activity from krakatau from this month:

Ijen Volcano, Indonesia
Increased seismicity has been recorded at Ijen volcano, Indonesia. Between 8-13 December 2011 harmonic tremor and 77 shallow volcanic earthquakes were recorded at the volcano. Seismicity began to increase in October 2011 and continued high levels of shallow volcanic earthquakes have continued at the volcano. Between 1-13 December visual observations showed brown-white emissions with a weak pressure rising 50-200 m above the crater. On 15th December 2011 the alert status at Ijen volcano was raised to level 2 (out of a maximum 4). A 1 km exclusion zone has been placed around the crater. This affects both visitors and sulphur miners.

Landslide in Indonesia on Monday, 19 December, 2011 at 14:09 (02:09 PM) UTC.

Description
Six people died during a flash flood and landslide in Wonosobo, Central Java on Sunday. According to the spokesman for the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, a joint search and rescue team from the local mitigation agency, the military, police and local people found five more bodies on Monday. Five others are still missing and 627 people were displaced by the natural disaster and are taking shelter at the village meeting center. “The missing victims might be buried under the mud,” Sutopo said. A flash flood and landslide swept away 13 houses in Tieng village, Wonosobo on Sunday afternoon and damaged seven houses. A survivor, Romdhon, said the disaster occurred during heavy rain. “My mother and I were outside our home, while my father was inside,” he said. “All of sudden mud covered our house and swept it away.” His father still has not been found.

Volcano Eruption in Indonesia on Monday, 05 December, 2011 at 03:50 (03:50 AM) UTC.

Back

Updated: Monday, 19 December, 2011 at 04:07 UTC
Description
A volcano has erupted in eastern Indonesia, forcing the closure of a nearby airport and blanketing villages with thick ash. No injuries have been reported. State volcanologist Surono says Mount Gamalama spewed clouds of thick gray ash into the air late Sunday. Slow moving red lava was also visible at its peak. Surono, who uses only one name, says an airport in Ternate, around 20 miles (30 kilometers) from the volcano, was closed Monday. Gamalama's last major eruption was in 2003. No deaths were reported then. Indonesia has about 500 volcanoes. Of these, 128 are active and 65 are listed as dangerous.

That Gamalama is really bad thing also. What i have looked that place there is potential to make megatsunami in many ways. Its allert levele is also III/IV.

I think there can be really bad landslides because it is island called ternade island and it can generate huge landslides. Anyway there is also many craters and there can be also one huge magmachamber. Then there is possibility to make same thing what Krakatau did. Volcano is really bad and it is one of the most scariest volcano in indonesia.

Okey this is really violent and shaking earthquake

[link to earthquake.usgs.gov]

and this kind of quake moves really fast and violently in surface and makes really bad things inside volcanoes magmachambers. Now there is one next to. Krakatau.

There have been last weeks many quite big quakes near and this kind of activity is not good. I read couple days ago from indonesia news letter that activity goes up and down in krakatau and scientist thinks that it is going up. Let see what kind of earthquakes they will get next few days.

Krakatau earhquake activity is now about 100-200earthquakes per day (it was over 6000) but now eruption progress is rising. There have been now quite big eruption and plume is about 300m high and numbers of explosions is rising.

Stituation is quite same than sakurajima. Let see which one of them first makes deavasting eruption. I really hope there is no winner in this race.

5.5 earthquake and 60km deep next to krakatau and if that early story about massive volcano complex is true this hits directly inside it.

There have really much big earthquake activity around krakatau.

In kraktau island there is 50-200 small earthquakes per day and alert level is III/IV.
