I bought my wife a 9mm for her birthday, she has a terrible temper. She's not bigger than me, but more likely to be the one wanting to beat someone, luckily for me I'm bigger. She asked me if I wasn't afraid that she would shoot me when she got angry? I told her that was why I bought her the gun, because being shot would be much quicker than stabbed to death with the kitchen knives.

Look if these assholes are beating their wives they have to go to sleep at some point. I don't think they should prosecute the women either whenever they end up beating their husbands to death in their sleep with a baseball bat.

PS. my wife puts pretty good rounds on target down range now. I love her enough to make sure she is never someone's victim. My biggest purpose in our relationship is to make her stronger, and more aware. You only beat someone down, whenever your insecure, or think very little of yourself.
